My Holland game on very hard with lucky nations on and AI agressiveness set to high in 1780. I'm mostly a colonial power, but needed to take a few Iberian provinces while kicking Portuguese and Castillians out of the new world. I kissed France's ass often and humbly right from the beginning and it paid off as I got Antwerpen and Vlaanderen off the Burgundians. :D Never managed to form Netherlands as the French who were my allies took one of the needed provinces.

In other news...strong Bohemia, strong Ottomans and a Golden Horde which went medieval on the far east (impressively slicing through the Ming who were huge at one point)...(Persia also exist, they control typical Persian lands and Arabian Peninsula)

No, the collector's edition is just EU3 vanilla. EU3 Complete, on the other hand, has all 3 (vanilla + NA + IN) which he does have, so your instructions still hold anyway.

I have NA & IN as well ^^
BTW, patham, that's some impressive colonial progress =) But I hope you'll decide to kick some french arse >)

Well...I'm afraid to say that they'd pretty easily overrun my five "Holland" provinces even if I fill them all to their support limit with troops. Also France is also allied with Bohemia...Besides, they are my allies and the game was played that way all along, so it would be out of character to just backstab France.

patham, I suggest taking all of Iberia, and from there, launching an attack to France. (Getting other allies aswell? Bohemia, and Italy?)

Italy wouldn't ally with me as it's an Ottoman holding. At one point of the game there was a war pitting Golden Horde + Ottoman Empire against me, France and Bohemia. Was an interesting situation...

Me as Ayutthaya or whatever. A true king can't type his country. I'm in the muslim tech group, trying to recover from the stab hit.

You can't see from that pic but France is a mess atm due to a war against the Scandinavia, Castille and Poland alliance.

There's also a bit of Scandinavia next to me in India.

Genoese Republic in 1559, don't know if this is a good start or not, it's my first serious game where I'm refusing to cheat. Just acquired most of my colonial acquisitions recently, within the last 10 years, only Beothuk in North America and Arquin in Africa are cities at this point, I also have Bermuda in case you can't see. Stopped playing just now when I conquered the Aztecs to get their gold, but the rest of their poor provinces might hold me back, I'm starting to lose my tech lead some, still lead in everything but people are closing in, namely Austria who I'm worried about because they have the throne of Pisa. Also just conquered that swath in the Black Sea after a big annoying war with the GH who took massive troop losses but wouldn't give up.
Just got core on Rome but not sure if I want to form Italy, it'd basically only give me a reason to finish conquering northern Italy and not make me get the penalty for non-core cot from Pisa and Venice.
