Now I really enjoyed playing this game over the past few days, I had originally figured that I would conquer all of mainland Europe and Africa banishing all the Europeans to the Americas the the Islands that I would never touch, but when I saw the Europeans and how dynamic the game had become I didn't want to ruin it with my Mingish hordes, so I stopped at Siberia and Japan. I never completely conquered Indo-China and was content to spend years wasting money making sure every single province I had was at least at fort level 5 with every possible building I could fit in there. So far I have made not a single university or any manufacture of any kind. I even contemplated selling my African provinces and Madagascar, but I never did. Part of me wants to add a tech that won't be reached until 9999 a.d. and extend the time limit just to see what happens. Here is my EU3 HttT Empire, it's story, and the world around it.
Some minor AAR-ish qualities applied, view disgression is advised.
When the Great Ming awoke from it's lazy slumber and met the outside world it was dazed and astonished at what it found:
The Indians have invaded the distant Arabian Peninsula.
The all powerful Empire of Falanxi had begun it's campaign and slowly ate the Iberian Nations.
Furthermore the Eastern Romans had expanded such an extent that they could claim and convert the savages of north Africa.
It's nation to the East of Africa was vast and powerful. No had has ever heard of the Ottoman Turks, unless they are describing the slaves to the Romans.
Astonished by the turn of events the great Ming began to westernize it's territories, having conquered the mongols they first reached the Chagatai and became a muslim nation in terms of technology and military strength. Then using the conquered southern territories known as "South China" to the great Ming Emperor a colonizing force established itself in the eastern most corner of africa, and soon from there went to conquer the Mutapans. Almost fifty years later the Kongo also admitted that they were better off Confucian than Pagans after the brief conquest, they were allowed to remain an independent nation and suffered numerous conquests from the Great Ming until they had no more gold to give and was annexed. After a few more decades the Kongo was connected to Mutapa.
Colonizing forces were sent north to Siberia, or Northern China as the great Ming so called it. It took almost two hundred years to fully bring it into the Confucian sphere of the Ming Emperor. It was at this time that the Ming became eastern and then skipping the military stage became Western and then seventy years later adopted the Tuscan Military units. It was then that a new nation emerged that intrigued the great ming.
Long after the complete destruction of the Falanxi Empire, Sardina-Piedmont appeared. The Great Ming Emperor was astonished by it's appearance for it had never been seen before by European nor Ming eyes. A guarantee was placed upon the small nation, but many years after it was absorbed, never to be seen by human eyes again.
The years passed and great nations arouse from the ashes of the old. Sweden became both Holy and Roman. This confused the great Ming who thought they were a proud Nordic people. It became even more confusing when just a decade after this proclamation they turned and became Scandinavian as well. Holy Roman Scandinavians? This was all too complex for the great Ming. The problem became worse as the Norwegians in Canaka claimed that they did not accept Swedish Hegemony of all Scandinavians. So they were Holy Swedish, Roman, Scandinavians. As the people in Gotland began raising their own complaints the Great Ming decided to ignore them completely.
The Japanese were fierce enemies of Great Ming, but soon they were slowly conquered along with the Koreans and the Manchu. It took many decades but soon the only ones who were Confucian in the land were the Great Ming. The nation of bali far to the south were the last remnants of an independent Japan, even adopting their Shinto faith. This amused the Great Ming who quickly conquered them and vassalized them into the Ming Protectorate.
Things suddenly grew quiet in the Ming as building surpassed all other needs. Every province was to have a workshop, courthouse, tax assessor, constable, Temple, Market place, regimental camp, and shipyard wherever relevant. The Ming which had only just barely passed each year with a revenue of 30 ducats soon grew to the hundreds and by the beginning of the nineteenth century earned well over 15000 a year. The money so flooded the great Ming that he froze the treasury at .5 ducats for a monthly revenue ensuring that the money went to where it was desperately needed as the Ming had fallen behind some Muslims, most easterners and could not compare to the west.
The Toungoo nation in the south had grown to encompass nearly all of India and all of Non-Ming territories in indo china, even beginning to take over Java and Borneo. Such an insult to Ming sovereignty would not go unchallenged. even so the Toungoo had 1/2 the army of Ming, but only 1/5 the size. As war exhaustion piled up and revolts spread from Siberia to Africa the great Ming called off the invasion with only minor gains. It was a mistake to have allowed them to become so large, but this did not stop the Ming. Each and every five years wars began and slowly bus surely the Toungoo was widdled down. By the fourth engagement Akaran was taken and their nation was effectively divided into two.
Revolts spread in the north and south. Assam grew in the Indian border while Brunei became the lord and master of all non Ming Indochina and Java. Being of Muslim origins the Brueneish army was impervious to our Uman Sanctum beli. Thus when the first war was fought they were well established and ready to fight. However our now more modern army tore them to tiny pieces. Great Britain and the Tuscans smelled blood and declared war on the region. Great Britain held four provinces in Indo China for almost three decades before signing a white peace. The Tuscans took much of Java and Malacca, but they rebelled against it shattering bot Brunei and European authority in the region.
Assam began to grow to the size of Toungoo. Remembering previous faults war was declared against the Assams. They were utterly destroyed and their rule over the Indians was finished. (Slightly perturbed how Chinese Units faired against the Indians...) But Assam was not through with annoying the great Ming. Several decades later they had recovered and ruled a much smaller, but still dominating force in Bangladeshi regions. The Ming was through with their games and invaded them forcing them to release several nations and give up cored territories.
With that finished the only other power in Indo China was Pegu and... Toungoo. The nation had managed to hold onto two small territories. The Great Ming allowed them to live hoping the smaller nations would slowly absorb them. But as they doubled in size the Ming knew that they must be stopped. They were invaded and annexed to great cost to the Ming's international prestige.
Back in Europe the Great Magdeburg grew and grew. It was amazing to the Great Ming that they proclaimed themselves leader of the German Federation, calling themselves Germany. Austria who at one time was nothing but a few space territories falling against the pressure of Roman power now suddenly bounced back and crushed Roman Hegenomy in Greece forcing the release of many nations, some of whom did not look like they truly belonged.
A Lombard Athens and Naxos were released, fully Greek Orthodox. Esperious, Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria and many other nations scattered across former Greek territory pushing them further East. With fall in the west, east slowly fell as well as Persia, Iraq, Syria, Ak Konyu, and the Golden Horde pillaged and raped the country side claiming great swaths of land. Byzantine Authority was not destroyed and the Romans gained control of the situation fought back.During the Chaos the small nation of Trebizond maintained it's independence and allied itself to their cultural kin against the oncoming storm.
In the North, the great Merchant Republic of Novogord formed Russia. Being the only Russian nation left no one complained to their proclamation and soon they destroyed much of the Great Golden Horde's armies and Subir, Ramazan, and Nogai khanates formed. Meanwhile the Golden Horde became a Sultanate. Not wasting any time the Great Ming expanded it's influence into both Subir and the Golden Horde. Soon they allied together and faced the Great Russian menace, which had recently become a constitutional republic.
The Great Spanish Empire had finally eclipsed as Chile, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, and Haiti rebelled against them. The Noble Algerian Reformed Republic also gained some of their territories and through Reformed zealots made Peru turn out reformed.
Aragon's empire was nearly as powerful, but became twisted and contorted. They fled to Africa and suffered the curse of watching their great Empire crumble.
Portugal had lost it's regions in Iberia long before colonies began to form and was now nothing but a remnant ruling in Tuat Africa.
The archbishop of Germany began to slowly devour it's neighbors and surpassed all other nations in terms of military might. This troubled the great Ming, but they were secure enough in the distance between the two nations. Furthermore had the Great Ming wished it, they could triple the size of their standing army in a matter of years.
The British lost control of the the main isle, Scotland, Cornwall, Papal States, Tuscany, and Ireland all capitalized on this. Canada formed in the former Colony of Virginia and America formed in Huron territory, westernmost Georgia and Connecticut. Quebec formed between Norway and Great Britain with two mere provinces. By far the most successful of the British colonies was Louisiana which absorbed most of Texas, West New Britain, Parts of Mexico, and even began colonizing Alaska. But the Colonies would be brought into Great Britain's sphere and slowly they regained control of the main island. Ireland had already begun colonizing and captured part of Iceland. The British would never again threaten the Irish cause.
Burgundy, the nation that had replaced Falanxi faced a revolt by Orleans. Orleans captured all Burgundian territory except for Iceland and Jamaica. They have controlled the great nation for well over a century.
Tuscan dominance of Italy began to wane as it's territories in Africa began to rebel, Savoy, modena, Naples, and Sicily revolted against their Tuscan overlords and became Noble Republics. Tuscan Africa, however, remained firmly in their "noble" hands.
As Persia began to become a great threat to peace the Great Ming funded patriots in their lands. These patriots ended up taking two persian provinces before completely overunning the Chagatai Khanate. In a matter of years they revolted in unison to the Great Ming. A confucian missionary made it to each territory and an army of ten thousand men went to administrate the region.
The Timurids were always interesting. They became a theocracy through unknown means as they are in fact the original Khanate. They moved to India but never conquered much. Every province they did take was met with Perisian advances. I guess they figured if they attack no one, they won't get attacked. They have ruled most of northern India for over two centuries. Delhi is a recent Hindu former Assamese Kingdom which is fully backed by the Great Ming, who is helping them reclaim their territories taken by Oman and Brunei. All around the world things began to calm down.
The Russians invaded the Golden horde, Subir and the Great Ming came to their aid. They captured most of the eastern territories by the time the Ming arrived, they crushed two armies and then the credits began to form. The Great Ming had existed for well over four hundred years and has spread very far.
