My guess would be an inheritance followed by CProd taking all their homelands. Pretty odd.

OPM Iraq was defender of the Sunni faith. Ming have had their usual troubles with rebels. When Ming was broken, all provinces occupied by Sunni Zealots defected to Iraq. Later the Brits invaded Iraq and took their Capital Bagdad. Then i invaded the Brits and the Iraqis continued to build up their new empire in the east

Me (Hungary) and my friend (Poland) in our MP game, picture is taken on the 30th December 1820.
Our goal at the start werent "WC" really but we decided to go over the infamy limit in the late 17th century to see if we could make it before time expired. Unfortunately OPM Great Britain and Wu, as well as Manchu and Japan survived to live in fear forever to the Polish-Hungarian world empire.
We tried to have as neat borders as possible as can be evidence in our Asian landborders.

This is really not much, but as my first ever attempt at a byzantium game, I think I'm doing ok:
I have Naples in a PU, Naxos as a vassal and I'm looking to consolidate now that I've got rid of the ottoman empire

Here's my beautiful Freisland Empire just 40 years into the game.
This is a year 1440 screenshot. I've done pretty well for myself thus far. Burgandy got excommunicated by the Pope, so I used that as an opportunity to grab both Brugge and Antwerp, two key provinces with both having high manpower, taxes, and 100k+ citizens. Right now I'm down to 12 BBB points, and I plan to bring it down to 8 or so before taking another shot at Burgandy.
Altogether I hold 14 provinces, two COT's, and 4 vassals making a total of 9 provinces. I'm in the Vennez trade league and I just about have that COT maxed out too. Only 2 inflation and going down, so no worries there either. The only real problem is that with as much aggressive expansion as I've had, I've not built up much influence in the Holy Roman Empire or the Papacy. I'm also not in control of the Netherlands completely yet, though I plan to diplo-annex Holland at the earliest opportunity.
Army is about at 26k with two generals, and Navy is at 7 big ships and 5 cogs, both climbing. Thoughts? Suggestions?

IMO a very nice achievement at 1467.
Candar is the obvious next target, I guess?

: iirc it's Antwerpen and Vlaanderen you conquered from Burgundy . If you're in doubt whether you can diplo-annex Holland, you might for sure benefit from buying some tailor made top ambassadors. But obviously you must have a high cultural tradition. These 2 COT's are great but as long they are not cores, they decrease you competition chances abroad significantly. IMO it's important to take it into account for your merchant strategy. Good luck.

Good idea, and thanks! Right now though I've got two tailor made diplomats to help fly my infamy down a little easier. My latest monarch is simply a Chuck Norris, he wants to wage war and has no use for silly things such as maintaining good relations and all of that boring crap. He's got a 6 shock rating, the highest I've ever seen of a monarch as of yet. I also have one 6* minting dude in order to help bring my inflation back to zero.
As for the merchant hits, I haven't really noticed it in my game. Really, the only other COT worth the investment in my game is Venez, and I've been able to build that one up just fine. The Hansa and Antwerpen automatically gives me a 98% chance to succeed, so between those 3 COT's I should be just fine. Thanks! ^^

Hungary is starting to fall apart, at least. England has dishonorable scum, but dunno if it'll make any difference.
My Morocco game 1618. My first game as an non Western nation. Started at the fall of Byzantium date. Really fun game! I have had so many wars where survival has been the only objective.
I'm fully westernized. Ottomans and Algiers are my current allies.
Current plans is to take the Castillian colonies south of my by borders. The tribal goverment in the east should be taken care of too. They have attacked me everytime I have been busy in another war! I didn't want to take their provinces because of the overextension event and rebel trouble.
I also think I will capture Granada, convert, and release them as vassals. After I have taken the Spanish colonies that will probably be my objective. I won't colonize any more provinces.
