Castille/Spain in 1590

Started by eating northern Italy, Flanders, followed by portugal thanks to the excommunication casus belli and ending up facing off with england against a united france.

Luckily I had the technological lead and was able to time the war so that my newly minted Condottieri faced off against lesser but more numerical and better led troops. After a tricky first war France were reduced in two more excommunication wars to the small inland stub ready to be absorbed into the growing spanish empire.

On the meantime the americas were being madly colonised, with an average of 20+ colonies (once I could afford it) being maintained simiultaneously to try and successfully shut out england from the americas.

Great Britain eventually turned to africa to satisfy their colonial urges, but they happened to neighbour my previous conquests of Songhai and Mali so after a brief debate they were stripped of all their subsaharan territories and forced to release Ireland, which I hoped would keep them busy. Sinking their almost equal and growing navy definitely played a hand in this too

After a sustained period of colonialism and taking chunks of France my income is approximately 1500/month and I'm making my way into India .. which I probably should be taking before Holy War casus belli expires

There's a remnant of the Mongols and Wu, who expanded into SE asia but is being slowly crushed by Ming. I managed to take Macao (with a COT), but I don't know if I'll bother taking chinese provinces.

I'm pretty sure I still see one over in Mali territory.

Keen eyes you have .. GB also have a province in the east indian coast. They recently cored and went berserk colonising Taiwan and the Phillipines. All of these are in my sights in the next colonial war I'm about to wage against them.

Oh, and crushing the british navy before they get any larger would be nice

Pommerania mid 1453. All settings on normal, luck historical.

Most interesting notes:
Muscowy made Luthuania collapse and release various nations. Those turned on Muscowy later and banged it. I took the opportunity and conquered Yaroslavl and vassalized Muscowy (green dot a little to the right on the first map).

Burgundy wassn't eaten up by France - on the contrary. But still France is strong.

Spain got a foothold in Greece and beaten up Morocco.

Austria suffered a loss vs. Milan. But I intend to help them, when my finances go up for...

Bohemia, which has been emperor ever since and fought with the Ottomans... and won several times and is now most likely the strongest nation.

Sweden is quite large, but the provinces are pretty poor.

I myselft took an island off Denmark, one province of Brandenburg, annexed the Teutonic Order (Prussia, here I come), got some provinces of Lithuania, and as said before, vassalized Muscowy, which I am eager to annex, for it has a manpoer rating of 5,000+ (although I wont get all of it )

Update: Another 6 years into playing (not on the maps) France has collapsed and all the southern provinces now belong to Auvergne, Guyenne and Foix. England also took a share and France is down to Ille de France, Coix and Nemours. Bavaria went into war with me after I was called to arms for defensive purposes. Now Brandenburg and Lithuania are Vassals and after a first setback against Bavaria which became HRE just a month after the war startet, reinforcements from Sweden and recalled troops from the east were able to push the alpine Krauts back to where they belong. Then we (Sweden and me) took the fight to them, and suddenly Austria, Bohemia and several minors joined up. I made peace with the people from the Octoberfest and forced them to release Baden and Mainz. Bavaria is left to rot against its numerous enemies along its borders. Most likely a new emperor will rise and I just need one more vote to become it. BB is now at 32/35.64, but that was worth it

Manchu, 1655, historical luck, income is quite decent 270+ only seconded to castille. After Ming is crushed really nothing is gonna to stop me my next target is muscovy.

1558 Burgundy - France. I have the European borders I wanted, now I'm going to invade and Vassalise everyone to make it all neat. Bavaria has grown out of control as HRE and looks to form Germany!! And Netherlands has formed nicely. I had 50 years of war with GB, which I won and I had to go back and declare war 2 more times as they kept taking it all back!

Or are you saying the reason the Spaniards aren't colonizing is because the Portuguese already took Mexico and all that? If thats what your saying, I would point out that Brazil, Canada, and most of the Caribbean is still open. But Aragon and Castile seem to be so busy fighting each other that neither has a single colony in the new world.

If thats what your saying, I would point out that Brazil, Canada, and most of the Caribbean is still open. But Aragon and Castile seem to be so busy fighting each other that neither has a single colony in the new world.

I took Spaniards to be Iberians in general, as Portugal has taken over everything else.

Castille and Aragon simply can't afford to colonize.

A few notes, My border stops at Iraq, to the West of that is Syria. Persia is about half its original size, I don't have free casus bellis now that I've reformed my government, so the going is hard. I have Dehil surrounded, waiting to take and core it so I have the option of forming the Mughal empire, not entirely sure I want to do that though. I now touch my brethren the Mongol Khanate in China, they will be under my protection from now on. I want to kill Nogai, but I have no spies and no casus bellis, 1 point of stab costs about 4 years to get back. I just concluded a Reconquest war with the Ming to get the former borders of the Oirat Horde under my control, I managed most of them but didn't want to go past my infamy.

In Europe, Austria has been my ally for a solid century at this point, and they are the only Empire I fear moving forward (big time fear!). I haven't gotten the centralization to Westernize yet, but without the Tribal tech penalty I have been getting close in land tech level to the West. France has 2 provinces :rofl:

kay this was me playing as Burgundy from the 1399 start I have changed around the colour of Great Britain to light red. So lets get started eh?
It is now 1661 and lets begin with the British isles. England under the Lancaster dynasty manages to form great Britain (with the except of cornwall which has been under the Dynasty of Rohan since the hundred years war, by far the most stable royal house in europe), this leads to a massive civil war in the mid 1500s that results in mass bereaucratic despotisms being formed all over the isles (Great Britain, Leinster, Wales, Scotland - now just aberdeen and the western isles, tyrone etc.) and Swedish Invasion of Scotland. Great Britain colonizes Manhatten and the Great Lakes, Brazil, Northern florida and northern argentina.

now for me i started as the Burgundy and managed to conquer and connect up the netherlands most of eastern france and far western germany. i have bin holy roman emperor since the early 14 hundreds have managed to colonize alot of the new world now so now it seems that in the Americas that there is only New Portugal, New England and New Burgundy. In the mid 1660s after a time of instability the King proclaims himself Emperor of Burgundy and we become an Empire. Russia formed from moscovy, the ottoman empire got big then got eaten up. The Byzantine Republic (Beraucratic despotism) rules crimea. italy was formed from milan then collapsed now milan is big again with the exception of my puppet states of the papal states who rule romangna and Urbrino which rules central italy and rome.

With the exception of what looks to be Paris (Still under French control) and Thrace (still under Ottoman rule).
