Portugal greatest country must colonize everything!

Screw that. Go full-frontal battle Portugal. Ally Aragon, trash Castile, turn on Aragon + take land in Italy --> wreck Ottomans by blowing up their navy and just keep going .

I can't remember how much I got exactly. I had claims to several of their provinces, and they had several on mine (I think they were trying to invade Northumberland) The OE wasn't too bad, as I cored their provinces fairly quickly. Scotland doesn't have too many provinces so it wasn't that expensive either. I honestly don't know what the AE was, but my diplomatic and domestic relations didn't seem to suffer because of it.

Scotland is too far from anywhere for anyone except the Irish minors, Brittany and maybe Norway (if that is still a thing) to care.

The Netherlands as Dutch Republic is obviously my number 1. Then 2nd I would choose Hindustan/Bharat as respectively Bahmanis/Vijayanagar. Finally, my 3rd option is Brandenburg => Prussia => Germany.

Yeren, Nepal, Timurids, Brandenburg, and the Dutch minors and the like are my top choices mainly due to their overwhelming potentials. All of the start out precariously but their ideas, claims, and the strength of their formables can make them the strongest nations on Earth quite easily.

Ichma->Inca.

Who the hell is Ichma? Well it's one of like 5 non chrisrian theocracies in the world and the only theocracy in americas and yes you can doem inca with it and terain theocratic government with its awesome heir system. On top of that Inti theocracies (well... a theocracy) get like a dozen of unique flavor events.

Uzbek - Buhkara. Had a really good game with them recently that im still playing late into the 1700's. lots of strong enemies around, and your early expansion has to be coupled with fine diplomacy and the right allies, but once u control the yumen trade node and are steering trade out of beijing, Samarkand can be one of the biggest trade nodes in the world. Plus, the Bukhara national colour is a beautiful golden orange.

Denmark - Scandinavia isnt very challenging but still fun because they are a strong alternate coloniser with different problems to spain/portugal who are (very) easy.

Venice. Venice has to be like 'THE' EU experience. Ive always enjoyed the allure of venice, the diplomatic options, the strong neighbours to all sides but still big opportunities for wealth gain. Ive probably played at least one campaign as venice in every year for the last decade through all iterations of the EU series. consolodating the italian peninsular and then carving out a global trade empire, good solid fun.

Nepal, Ming, Oirats, Japanese Daimyos, Korea, Ava -> Shan, because the East is obviously superior. If i were to pick one of the european countries, then it'd probably be Norway or Novgorod.
