Where the heart is, extended. Had a pretty easy time with the achievement and since I had managed not to cripple myself, felt like going a bit further.
Nice, I'm actually doing the same run currently with the same goal of becoming EoC and I have to agree it's very fun. Though, can animists actually get extra missionaries from anywhere? Conversion is really lagging behind with 2 missionaries, and I think you need 100% unity for max absolutism from C&C without using up the golden age. After countless tries since the achievement was introduced, I finally got a lucky start. Once you get going, that's extremely enjoyable, as Bengal clearly is an insanely profitable tradenode and a perfect place to spawn institutions.

So, you thought the spirit of Animism could die out so easily? Fools! Our Animal Kingdom will spread far and wide, all over India.

Ane once that's done, we will become the first Animist Emperor of China! Oh wait, no. Ming actually has quantity, forget it.

We will try anyway.![]()
Well, I didn't mean that literally anyone can do it, I just meant that if I'm doing an achievement run that requires an Animist Manipur, I might as well stay so. Religion is a bit over-emphasized anyway, you can eventually pick humanism + offensive as any religion and keep 100% RU with next to no rebels and finish a one-tag or whatever well before 1800. Animist does really suck at converting, though. Some countries have an easier time doing it than others. Being Emperor of China + form an Indian tag requires a lot of cheese from pretty much every country, and less cheese for Manipur as it stands in between and has a religion that allows to become Emperor of China, and that you should ditch anyway for Hindu if you want to expand rapidly and stay stable because Animist is the worst religion in the game. I don't want to do so, but just in case.
I developped them in Bengal Delta, Gauda and Barind. 3 Farmlands, one cloth province, all neighbouring, perfect area to do so. Koch is Grassland only so that's slightly less good, but it also depends on your expansion. I personally got Bengal before Koch, as I was allied with Assam and could not get to Koch. So I made Gauda my capital, and Bengalese is my primary culture.
As a Golden Era also gives -10% power costs, I keep it for the lategame rush, but that's also because I won't fire C&C.
And yes, Tribal Despotism is godlike.
Since I posted first pictures, my inner nature took over and I started to blob in every direction and create atrocious bordergore, but well...
I recommend playing Kongo, pretty easy and relaxing, and a strong goal of turning history upside down and making Europe the Third World.
Pretty much. Not nearly enough stuff actually happening. It's not realistic, nor is it fun gameplay-wise for nation to just become static and easy for nothing. You see, that the Kongo is 'easy and relaxing' makes me not really want to play EU4. A nation like that shouldn't be a walk in the park, and it suggests something in the game is off
