Here is my first completed ironman run as Tabarestan > Persia to get the "Shahanshah" and "This is Persia" achievements. I know it may not be that impressive, but hey, at least the borders are somewhat pretty.

Did I mention I was Zoroastrian?

By covering all the Asian trade companies with manufactories and counting houses, presumably. Given the quality of goods there and the amount of development we're talking about, it's not so surprising.

The lesson is that if you want to rule Asia, don't have your capital in Asia.

Given that he's Arabia, I'm inclined to guess Oman, since neither Pate or Mzab can create it unless they culture shift (and I don't see the cheesiness of doing that in this case)

My last game as Fezzan was too slummy so I glammed it up as Tunis this time. Was primarily going for Sons for Carthage but ended up getting my first WC while I was at it:

I don't typically like the micro of mass expansion so this was a bit painful at various stages to be honest... but it was a box to be ticked off and this patch is perfect for it. Tunis gets a lovely start really, with nice drylands to develop in for the early instituions. Then I just... errr... killed everyone. Releasing Vijay out of Bahmanis and eating all of south India really easily and pretty early on was a boon. Killed Ming later by just attacking different tributaries over and over and taking 100% OE off him every war so as to avoid truce timers. Dredging up once big Denmark, Hungary and Muscovy for their cores was also useful. Otherwise, not much to say.

Edit: Just a quick shout out to the more knowledgeable posters here (esp. atwix, bbqftw, TMIT and badesmofu) whose posts on this forum have made me an immeasurably better player than I was before. Couldn't have done anything like this before reading and stealing their insights into the game.

I started as Oman, then shifted to Persian, became Mughals for the Ideas, then shifted to Egyptian to form Arabia for the nicer Green and the Arabian coffee achievement.

I was allied to Hungary most of the game, so I didn't betray them when I could have.

My most recent game, a Croatia run. I did not start as Ragusa though, but I would like to give that a try some time. Instead I released from Hungary, declared independence, went forward from there.

Commonwealth was a monster that stretched from Brandenburg and Silesia all the way east into Yugra (so beyond the Urals), and at one time even stretched south into Slovakia as well as the land between the Caspian and Aral seas. Muscovy died very early to a triple combo of Denmark, the Commonwealth, and Perm.

I wish my borders looked a little neater at the edges but things didn't go as I planned.

Had fun with diplo-vassalizing this game, I usually don't rely on it. But in this game I managed to conserve admin points by eating up well-fed vassalized Serbia, Byzantium, Mentese, Syria, Iraq, and Mamluks.

Castile-Spain just after integrating my 250-odd year Portugal PU. They held most of Brazil and the Caribean, and Alaska and California were entirely their work.
Once I got the feel for it, it wasnt a hard game of course, but it was fun trying something other than Ottomans. I'm still playing the save but not sure what else I'd want to try and do in the last century. I guess I could try invading India, see how that works out.

From there you can do anything, but I would suggest going for an achievement. The ones requiring to conquer India or Japan as an European Country, and the one requiring Malacca, Hormuz and Aden, are pretty easy from your position in the last 100 years and thematic with your colonial Empire.

Those sound interesting, I'll see what can be done about it. I'm working on colonising Australia atm, got that achievement ticked. I also noticed I should kick Norway out of its 2 Carribean provinces for teh No Pirates achievement. Cant have Norway in such warm territoy after all.
