Its a nod to the skill of the Castile --> Prussia game above. Doing what I did with Morocco isn't easy unless you're experienced, but it's a step or two down from 1-tagging the world before 1730. I was able to grasp bbqftw's reasoning for the tag switches immediately (apparently England for HRE is still a thing), but were I to mimic that I'd likely finish decades later anyway. Considering you can take 2500 development per war once you get to admin 27 though I could probably manage...
Makes sense. Haven't toyed with the HRE in many a patch other than dismantling it. Useful, might want that extra 10% RCC some day.
I dislike the thing but it's obviously strong. Notably it looks like he revoked then just straight annexed the vassals, which is amusing. That would have been extremely difficult in previous patches but I guess with 4% cost on annexing the guys it's less daunting.
HRE + Coptic + Italy is one a few ways you can hit 70% core cost reduction. During a golden age you push the reduction to the now-80% cap and can core in 8 months, making taking > 100% OE and coring before rebels tick up possible, though these days with rebel sentiment spam + inability to use raise autonomy if you want to keep your absolutism that's slightly trickier (though that event is only going to fire 1-2 times before you finish coring

Again, helpful. Even with 2,000+hrs in this game, the amount of tricks, country specific events, religious mechanics (esp. the New World faiths) etc etc I don't know seems like it could fill an encyclopedia. And while I wouldn't necessarily use them, simply knowing about them increases the potential power of any playthrough. Luckily guys like Florryworry and bbqftw are here to teach us all how to take the game to the limit. I tip my hat off to them!
A similar thing happened to me. The Ottomans stretched from Austrian border all the way to Persia and were invincible. Even a coalition failed. But then I with Russia managed to take some of it's land. However, thank god for Russia's attrition and manpower. At times I lost an army and I had to hire mercenaries. Meanwhile, Russia just sent one army after another. And then stupidly the ottomans went through my Prussia, but instead of sieging Prussia, they had the "great" idea to siege Moscow. What was the ai thinking. Then they got destroyed just from attrition.
i think that he (iirc) lost a war on purpose and moved his capital out of the HRE so he could attack it, so not diplo-annex.
I started in CK2 with the CK2 Plus mod as the Duke of Transylvania in the year of 1000. I formed a catholic Romania and the game turned rather intersting, and I decided to convert it in EU4.
Egypt is a crusader state, Jerusalem is under Byzantine influence.
I am allied with Byzantium, Poland, Moravia and Baden.
Also, there were no Mongols. They appeared in CK2 but their Khan died pretty quickly and they didn't get to expand, I am not quite sure what happend but I am glad it did.
There is also no HRE.

Best Aragon start fricken ever.
First I got a random PU over Castile, not the iberian wedding, just a random PU in like 1447 because they disinherit enrique fairly commonly.
I ally Burgundy and jump on France in their moment of weakness.
My PU castile gets the inheritence... lol... and is 1 under the province limit for instant annexation. Fantastic.

Still surviving! I am no longer allied with Poland, I'm allied with the Byzantines, Verona, Muscowy, and Sweden.
Thankfully, Poland is not allied with France, and they had their share of battles, as I and the Byzantines just had now with the French.

This is my first post ever! This is the first time i have played till the end, and my first time starting as Holland. It was a chill and relaxed run, and im sure i could have seen a way higher trade income as the potential for the Netherlands is huge.

My Russian Empire on hard. The idea was to conquer Asia, but Europe, that sweet fruit. Who could resist? Not me. But it's not really an excuse, because I didn't really conquer that much. Well, without my european conquests I doubt that the 18th century would have been such a smooth fun ride. Also, this is my first game to the end date. I usually get bored before.

Nothing personal against Sweden, all of Scandinavia was meant to be part of the Empire, but I forgot about them. After I got Stockholm, I was satisfied and always said after the next war, and so on.Why did that Sweden had to suffer such castrations?
