My Austria achievement run. went pretty well for my first time playing as them. Manage to snag: Royal Authority, Master of India, A Kaiser not just in name, Market Control, Trade Hegemon, Double the Love, Guarantor of Peace, City of Cities, A Decent Reserve and All Your Trade Are Belong to Us. I also have Naples as a vassal.

IDK, it's pretty weird, at -30 K their interest should be way over monthly income limit, but they didn't explode, They also stacked up that debt incredibly fast, like few decades, at one point I was called into a war as an ally of France against Spain which forced me to break aliance with them and when I re-allied they wouldn't join any of my offensive wars anymore, because they owed more ducats than they could ever make. I guess it could've been a glitch, might just be France forced them to go way over forcelimit or something, not sure.

My first WC in 2200 h of gameplay :D

Austrian HRE emperor's game is much more interesting than Ottomans, that's for sure.. :D
Conquering all world while playing pure diplo game(with some steel and fire) in HRE was fun, keeping safe little guys in empire, but after protestantism rise up to its end ~1687 i was very little at peace, force converting HRE members while corring new conquered lands, had to force Swizerland 6 times to convert.. bastards.
Made mistake when Netherlands spawned, conquered them, cored releaset without adding provinces to HRE.. so i was forced to anex them again and release..

I was pretty lucky at 1655 getting PU over pretty huge Commonwealth, i was supporting my candidate on their throne for past 190 years right after they changed back to monarchy they had Habsburg on throne.. or not.. it costed me 4,3k diplo points to integrate them..

Oh and this is how it looked before "Renovatio Imperii", made Portugal so powerful that they had -113 modifier from economical power..

My Baguette play. I was trying for Big Blue Blob achievement and missed out by 1 year (again). I already had the Better than Napoleon but decided to continue nonetheless.

After vassalizing Portugal, they were on the edge of losing their colonies due to very high LD so I decided to integrate instead of letting them colonize and risk losing the colonies.

Right now the only Western European colonizer not vassalized by me is Holland and as I am still allied with Austria (HRE emperor), I am still waiting for the right opportunity to take their colonies and coastal provinces. Denmark does not have expansion or exploration ideas selected yet.

Norway, Leon, Brittany (all colonizing) + Ferrara and Bulgaria are my vassals.

as it is already 1625, I am not sure a WC is in the cards, I tend to slack off too much once I become too powerful....

A vassal's CNs cannot declare for independence due to mechanics, so all that LD is doing is prevent the vassal from getting tariffs.

Well bummer, and good to know, thank you
Doing a LT BUR->NED run now and Leon has Mexico under itself in a CN that has around 130% LD from relative power alone - tagged and saw that the declare button is grayed out. So yeah, let your vassals colonize without worry - in fact, it can be better than to have them yourself, since the vassals will be eating the inflation from the treasure fleets and not have to pay % from it to you - both protects you from inflation and gives vassals pocket money to build infrastructure.

Realized two weeks or so ago that I hadn't done my traditional BRa->PRU->GER game in 1.13 yet. Originally I wanted to keep things modest, but then Lithuania needed some partiotioning, the Turks needed some containing and I needed a border with France, who is in a PU under me since 1768 (and would need 50 years to integrate).

Some fun things that happened in this game:

1. In 1650 the UK was easy one of the top 5 powers in the world. Then their colonies went independent and around 1700 or so they lost a war against (big and strong) Mutapa who made them release Scotland. Nowadays the UK holds a whole 7 provinces (5 in Africa, 2 in Mexico).

2. The Livonian order was a 3PM for most of the game, then in the last 30 years they decided to get a piece of the Lithuania-cake and eat Scandinavia (read: Sweden) while they were at it. They were so small they converted Gotland and Ösel to Prussian culture.

3. Speaking of cute little monastic orders, to Teutons survived til 1742, the last 10 years as one of my vassals, as an OPM on Bornholm. The province is Prussian and has 40 development, larger than Constantinople or Paris and only slightly behind Mantua and Holland (which are both at 42 development).

4. Spain went full genocide mode on Portugal and had completely annexed them by 1540 or so. Brazil thus spent most of the game independent and stretches along most of SA's western coast. Galicia and Leon were released in the late 17th century or so and Spain has made no attempts to gain them back. They also have a rather huge colonial empire and beat me in score.

5. For the time the Netherlands were a significant colonial power on had Friesland exiled to Lousiana. Then they lost a war and had to return Friesland to Friesland. After the Dutch colonies went independent Friesland exiled the Netherlands.

6. The Ottomans kind of slept through the first 2 centuries, then they went full Suleiman on Hungary, which ended up partitioned between me and them. Then I decided it's time for some liberating.

7. At the height of their power the Hohenzollerns held the thrones of Prussia, Russia and France. Then in 1677 I fell under a PU with Russia. When I regained independence quickly after the Sucession War with France came to an end, I got House Walter on the throne. The French Hohenzollerns ended in 1768. The Russian Hohenzollerns still reign.

8. Rome is the most developed province in the world at 55 development, and funnily enough the Pope is allied with Tlemcen.

1. Tuscany -> Italy -> HRE
0B039DC88C58043DCA5D30C4F2B7ADDA9EC7F8D3

So this is my Italy campaign, which I finished awhile ago but still stands out as one of my better campaigns. I started out as Tuscany, formed Italy and blobbed on from there. France was my big ally for the first half of the campaign, but she betrayed me twice after I became the emperor by attacking a prince of the Empire so I had to put her down in a few 1v1 wars. :p I am the Emperor and have finished every reform except the last. It stands on hold on this picture because I dont't like the way the map looks when the HRE is formed as a country and I hate the boring gray color :p Anyway, here is a picture when the reform is passed:

FBF4A235C04D2541FA4079D34DDF8B16DB8540A9

The only thing I regret about this campaign is that it wasn't an Ironman campaign. I thought I was playing an Ironman campaign till it was too late for me to restart it so I decided to just continue it and see how far I could go. Another minor detail is that I unfortunately wasn't able to kill France of in time hehe. Still managed to get a fair bit of land/vassals. Austria is practically the only prince which didn't want to accept the final reform. They are still a vassal of me but I couldn't annex them in time.

2. Byzantium -> Eastern Roman Empire
D4F7598136FF29F7FD7C11C49DC3323CE8E81420

Another one of my 'victories' was finally being able to get the Basileus achievement. After trying the galleyspam a few times I decided it was time for the diplomatic approach. I managed to get Poland, Lithuania and Austria at my side and crushed the Ottomans in a series of decisive victories. Afterwards I managed to get westernised and started steamrolling through the kebablands, exciling the Ottomans into the Egyptian desert before finally beating them. With the Ottomans out of the way I started taking over bits of Indonesia and India but again, I ran out of time before I could really take over enough land there. It was a fun campaign though and I managed to get a nice Roman Empire in the end. Now it's time to do the same with Trebizond

3. Poland -> Polish-RUSSIAN commonwealth
EB5DA7746067E857CD9D46025485EA64FF9394E8

I started this campaign because I wanted to get some achievements, and there are a lot of achievements which require you to play as Polendball, like abolishing the Sejm and getting into space by using Winged Hussars. It started off easy enough by destroying the Teutonic and Livonian order while maintaining my PU with Lithuania. Then I saw how Muscovy got attacked by the Swedes and all the surrounding hordes at once while losing badly. I decided it was time to end this threat once and for all. In the aftermath I released and vassalised Yaroslavl and Pskov, while feeding them Russian lands. After becoming the Commonwealth I diplo-annexed them and started colonising the Siberian wastes while in the meantime becoming an unstoppable blob. Then I turned my wrath to the Ottomans and finally got my sweet revenge for the Battle of Varna :p. Funny thing about this campaign was Bukhara, which became a huge country until I decided it was time to take over some of their lands in order to cut them down. Also France, which got stuck in a PU under Spain till late game is worth mentioning here.

The reason for the pun in the naming of this campaign is that Lithuanian as a culture is no longer accepted in this empire because it fell below the accepted culture treshold. Therefore, Polish, now together with Russian are if I recall correctly the only two accepted cultures in this nation.

I will post some pictures of my Scandinavia and Prussia campaigns soon, but Im still busy finishing them while also trying to get the Komnenioi Empire achievement.

It is acomplished! I finaly made something with really neat borders. Entire Africa under papal command, in Europe I only hold Italy and Avignon + Riga.
Holy Trinity - Kingdom of God - Colonial Papacy.
1dkI.jpg

1dkN.png

I've maintained 'the holy trinity' (the three holy order marches) under my command for the entire game, which was kinda awesome. I didn't bother with expanding Teuronic and Livonian orders' teritories, but I fed a ton of islands to the Knights. Also close up on Europe
1dkH.jpg

Since Japan stayed Shinto I took the perfect oppurtunity to force convert them through conquest and grab the rising sun achievement.

Religious map. Islam pushed to Asia and catholic reformation failed hard. But that was to be expected since I played the Papal State.

Nice Commonwealth! Catholic? Or Protestant/Reformed?

Pro tip - as Poland, eat Russian land fast via feeding Lithuania. Take Neva & Novgorod, plus the Catholic land of the Livonian Order, but feed the rest to Lithuania rather than other vassals or coring it yourself. The decision (to form PLC) will give that land all for free AND Lithuania's NIs + them getting Russian accepted early make eating the Orthodox land real easy. Historical friends with Lithuania makes it extremely unlikely they will ever rebel or have liberty desire issues. :)
