First, detail on Indochina and south China. Khmer is a march, Laothaya, Vietaya, and Nanjing are client states, and all the Chinese minors aside from Shun are protectorates (Shun broke free on their own). Most of South China was only conquered in the last decade of the game.
Here's my emperor. I had an alliance with Japan and eventually got the Ashikaga dynasty around 1700, if I remember correctly.
Trade screen, Malaya dominates East & South-east Asia
Technology: didn't quite complete Admin tech.
Ideas: I suppose most would have taken Exploration as Malaya, but I wasn't really interested in colonizing the New World, and I felt like the colonist from Expansion was enough for my ambitions.
Military screen. This was back in 1.12 so I only have 1 leader capacity despite being an empire.
Here is India. Sind used to be powerful but were destroyed by Persia, Malwa, and Spain near the end. Note the amzing Kaffa in the corner!
Russia and the steppes are a mess. Crimea westernized early and used to be bigger, but ran into tough times, letting Theodoro break free near the end of the game and actually expand. Kazan is Nogai's vassal, so those borders aren't quite so bad. Russia was a big punching bag for the last century or so... the revolution didn't really help them.
Europe! France got a PU with Sweden early on (before I made contact). Sweden eventually broke free and was powerful for a while, with Norway being exiled to Iceland. France stayed around in Finland, and began reconquering their Swedish cores and returned a bunch of territory to Norway, which let them take most of the rest of Sweden. Also, Sapmi appeared!
Here's Africa, with the awesome Kaffa noted before. Also, that is one nice looking Ottomans IMO.
South America. Holland was ejected from Europe, and so set up shop in Brazil. But Brazil is portuguese speaking... and Haiti also has a chunk of brazil (Haitian Brazil, the lighter green colour). Chile is English, and Columbia is Scottish. France kept control of their colonies.
North America. Haiti is Portuguese and Mexico was too I think. Funnily enough British Columbia was colonized by the Scottish-speaking South American Colombia. California is a colony of Holland, in South America, while Nova Hollandia and Frisian Louisiana are colonies of Frisland. There are plenty of Spanish colonies too. And Revolutionary Russia in Baja California.
End Screen!
And finally the religious mapmode. Look at all the Hinduism. Those reformed bits of Australia are due to English Australia which beat up my colony Ostraya once when I wasn't looking. I annexed them but Ostraya didn't have enough time to convert everything. Also of note, Holland in South America was Protestant, but the actual Netherlands are Reformed. And a couple of the chinese protectorates I made in the last few years ended up animist and led a bit of an animist revival there.
