Holy Trinity Run with my first CS game.

Austria rushed through HRE reforms pretty much by 1600 and were never rivals with France so I never really expanded north into the HRE or France(lacked one province from Austria for forming KoG). Hungary fell under a PU with France. Poland never had Lithuania as a subject. Castile dominated the Iberia peninsula but lost the PU with Aragon and than Iberia became a mess.

Never really had much concern with coring cost or integration cost.

Theodoro!!

Some guys just know how to finish early. (haha... ha...)

No but really, who did you ally? Or did Castille collapse in some civil war?

How did you finish it so early?

for some reason tlemcen broke their alliance with the ottomans so i could attack them and gain a bit more power base. i could then ally ottomans. with a decent diplo king and diplo rep advisor i could ally france ( who had rivalled castille) so i dow'd castille after moving my units to france, i white peaced protugal and took most of andalusia ( expcept murcia). After this war i could rival castille which led me to an alliance with aragon. I then dow'd portugal (tunis had annuled all of their treaties in a defensive war, might have been morroco) with france and aragon and took their 3 most southern provinces, including lisboa ( this made me the dominant power in the sevilla trade node). castille only had great britain and brittany as ally so i took some more land from them (madrid, toledo and some others.)

my next war was with portugal again and making aragon a co-beliggirent, aragon was allied to france so couldnt attack them directly, took most ouf their southern provicnes and the baleares. then took more from castille.by this point the 3 iberian powers were reduced to mere shadows of themselves. france rivalled me after i annexed the rest of iberian aragon, but I didn't need them anymore. I finished westernization at around 1542. I am still sunni

The glorious empire of Wu, ruled by the Sun family! 5823 total development, 819 Land Limit, trade bonus from trading in every kind of goods besides salt/tobacco/fur/wine. With its huge armies defending its borders, the Wu China is stronger than ever! Sun Quan would indeed be very proud :D
Fun Facts:
1) Aragon formed Spain after only rushing the few necessary provinces off Castile in around 1600.
2) France was reduced to 7 landlocked provinces by GB and Burgundy by 1550, but reclaimed most of its cores by allying with the powerhous Austria.
3) I had to conquer half of Japan from... Russia. At the same war with Russia, i wanted to take some of Siberan territories all the way to Kamchatka, but the Russians would not accept the peace offer because i didn't occupy a single fort in Siberia, despite Siberia not having any forts at all with the closest one being in Perm.
4) The strongest enemy of the game was Malacca, which i faced right after i finished westernizing in around 1660, and it was 2 mil. tech. ahead of me. They managed to conquer half of Indochina up to the province of Sukhothai and fielded an impressive 120k troops.

My second completed game since Common Sense released. The first was a 15-achievement Castile run that would have made for some hideous screenshots. Lurking these forums has led me to understand there's a historical bias for playing England as a colonial nation, yet aside from a 10% Tariff Bonus slapped onto a National Unrest reduction, I can see no in-game motivation for it.

The screenshots for other completed games can be found on Steam, same username as here.

Edit: Final development in the above game was 3139, in case anyone wonders. I personally developed only enough to get An Industrial Revolution.

I made my own custom nation with the nation designer: Nordland, a one province nation on Bermuda with Norse religion and Norwegian culture. Started in 1444 and went for Exploration Ideas as soon as I could, after which colonial expeditions were sent to the Caribbean. It was quite the economic struggle in the beginning, LOTS of loans were taken but after most of the islands in the Lesser Antilles were colonized by me I had a pretty steady income since they are all very high base tax.

2015-06-25_00002.jpg

Now it's 100 years later and most of the Caribbean is norse which is kinda awesome, with the exception for Hispaniola and eastern Cuba which were colonized by Portugal. I also have a colonial nation in northern South America, named it Kólumbía which is Colombia in Icelandic. Interestingly enough my province Panama (where they produce gold!), which is part of the Colombia colonial region, wasn't given to my Kólumbía colonial nation but remains under my direct control.

Other than that have two colonies on their way in the Amazonas, another province further down in Brazil which is a little far down but that was a mission I took to colonize it, and last but not least: Fernando Po outside the coast of Africa. That one I colonized mostly for the fun of it.

It might have been a little overpowered to start in the Americas as a Western power. :D Although I had to use 150 out of my 200 points in the nation designer on putting me in that tech group...

Fun fact: Panama is a province in North America hence why it stayed directly under your control.

I had Afghanistan as my vassal at this point, annexed them, conquered all the land in my culture group, and began conquering QQ with the Ottomans as my ally. As soon as I conquered a border with the Ottos they immediately rivaled me, which gave me the idea to go for the This Is Persia achievement.

My proudest feat of this game is that I didn't lose a single battle against the Ottomans or Mamluks, and I was undefeated in battle for ~200 years. This was the war that shattered my streak. (It was my first real war against western powers, with my accomplished goal being to annex Greece.)

As punishment for their failure, I forced the defeated army to dwell on their embarrassment as they marched around my borders.

A few notes: The League Wars are very disappointing this patch; I much preferred it when there were two wars instead of one. Protestants won the league war even though there were actually very few protestant nations leading to a collapse of the HRE. This is the first game that I've seen colonial nations rebel in, with two Portuguese nations throwing off the shackles. Norway lost all of its home provinces but migrated to Canada and was somehow the first nation to circumnavigate the globe. Russia was extremely powerful at one point, bordering me in Georgia, but Bankrupt during War -> Civil War -> War with Commonwealth + Sweden -> Revolting Hordes -> 100% Autonomy in all Provinces but the capital -> Nuclear Implosion happened. It's among the greatest things I have seen in EU4. The Commonwealth was nigh unstoppable. Sweden formed Scandinavia. The Netherlands revolted from Bohemia (who was emperor during the Inheritance) and went on to become a Great Power. They colonized parts of the Caribbean and Africa and fought off France and the Commonwealth in the above pictured war with limited help from Brandenburg. Aragon was the strongest nation in the world during the 1500s. Ragusa conquered a significant portion of the Balkans. I got the achievements Shahanshah, This is Persia, City of Cities, and It's all about the Money. I also westernized for the first time (it was extremely late and unneccessary but I had a 15 year truce so I worked it in between 1685-1700).

Some crazy mofos in my multiplayer group let me full HRE. Note player mapmode in background:

I technically 'won' a war in the Privelgia phase against player Russia and player Ottomans but it was pretty rough, he started defensive stabhitting me so I just accepted, as I would have in any situation like that. Later I pushed the grayskin button because the host said he'd never seen it before.
