very hard game, because of dumb coalitions of nearly all Europe against me any time...
Strategy :
Take Crete from Venice for future coring in the continent
Attack Austria and take Gorz for bridgehead in the HRE
Ally Ottomans for naval supremacy and Muscovy for securing eastern front when Poland/Lithuany dow you
Improve relations with France, Castille to escape massive blobs and impossible coalitions
Eat piece by piece the HRE
HRE provinces are not overseas to Theodoro, unless you move your capital to another continent.I can't see how you managed to completely fill out a third idea line and be ahead of time in all 3 tech groups. I know it's cheaper to core overseas provinces, but still. Also curious what your strategy was to defeat or distract the Venetian navy to conquer Crete.
that gif map image is awesome![]()

So here's my sad excuse for a Russia, this is probably my most successful Russian game though (out of hundreds of tries). I got to around 1797 until I called it quits. My strategy here was ally poland early for security against the hordes and then steamroll the western hordes with poland/lithuania and then allied Prussia to bring the commonwealth down, it worked out quite well.
Mantua very nearly formed Italy, it only needed a OPM Milan but was too late and got stomped by a French-Aragonese alliance and fell apart.
I'm also very proud of that Caucasian Border with a nice looking Ottomans and Persia. I never got around to conquering sunni Theodoro, it meant going up against a very strong Ottos.
Most of my game I was cursed with bad kings so I had bad and slow tech.
My most successful attempt at a Ming WC so far, but I opted for the 1,001 first and ran into some pretty large "increased core cost" nations.
Quite certain if I play again with a vassal/new world focus I can get it. Anybody else have tips for WC when PUs/HRE are not an option?
If you want WC but don't care about 1 tag, the answer is to just spam out vassals at the end going over relations limit, even with new liberty desire rules nobody is going to touch that kind of empire I bet.
If you want 1 tag, you'll want to at least move your cap to an island to get the 50% reduction on coring in Europe and Africa, though it's still prohibitively high tax. For Ming, dipannex is and overseas coring are in the same neighborhood, with dipannex being a bit better. Use both. You'll need it.
Nothing amazing but almost perfect borders. If only you had eaten that northeastern oirat province![]()

Just noticed Silesia had its own ideas so I decided to try it out. TBH I haven't lost a war yet and it is becoming one of the easiest playthrough of all.
