I so need to play Theodoro--that colour is just beautiful.

Here's my current project, a blobbing Coptic Ethiopia.

So I hear you like bordergore.

Political situation. Najd, Fez, Tibet, Novgorod and the Netherlands (they just rose up against Austria and promptly got smashed, so I vassalized the remains to feed them back their cores) are my vassals, and France is in a PU under me.

I play Etheopia quite often.

Put simply; there are a total of 4 nations in the game with Coptic religion, and you are by far the largest of them. It is also exceptionally rare for Coptic rebels to spawn elsewhere [There's a couple of Coptic provinces but them enforcing demands is once in a blue moon]. You can either annex or vassal the others, and then go Religious and literally get a free CB against every single neighbor. You also NEED Religious to convert all of the heretics. Although I guess you could let rebels convert you to Sunni; but then you lose the free CB's of Religious against EVERYONE.

You can go Expansion [Gives you MORE free CB's against less advanced Africans and Asians] or Exploration [More Colonists; uses up Bird Mana instead of Paper mana; which I was desperately short of] after that, and start colonizing. A vital place to colonize after Funj spawn and are dealt with are the 2 provinces that open the way to Sub-Saharan Africa, which is basically free provinces for you to eat. Meanwhile; you can use the straight to cross into the Arabian region without having to push through the Malmuks/Ottomans.

I'm at a similar date, although I'm smaller due to being plauged by regencies, and I'm always slow to intergrate vassals; especially Kaffa; since without Kaffa you're without RM's for a while and thus risk more regencies or even losing your dynasty/entering low legitimacy hell. Also I've been colonizing and plan to push into India later. Also I've been forced to Diplo-Annex instead of outright Full Annex because my rulers have had 1~2 Admin power since the first super-ruler died; which has slowed me down :/

Rbvr9SH.jpg

Provided you knock the Muk's a peg or two [But don't eat em fully unless you're ready for the Ottomans], there's no-one around you who can stop you.

What I am curious is how he got the PU over France; because of the massive malus due to border distance to get a RM. I'll probobly try to RM Portugal; since PU'ing them also gives me England [England is in a PU under the Portugese]

Also yeah; between increased chance for a new heir; and massive superblobbing potential; your base tax can be absurd; giving you a good chance to form PU's when you finally meet up with the rest of the Christians thanks to being Christian yourself. [Getting converted to Sunni prevents this]

I favour the aggressive method as far as the Mamluks are concerned--get QQ on your side and steamroll them once you've eaten/vassalised your immediate neighbours. Not only will this allow you to start growing in earnest, but moving your capital to the Egyptian area enables diplomacy with western Europe (technically it's possible without moving your capital, but because of the penalties you get for interacting with tags who can't "see" you you can forget about obtaining useful allies, RMs etc). Once that penalty's out scoring European allies is trivial, since at this point you should be fairly big and have enough of an army to make it worth their while. I went for Austria first and beat up the Ottomans with their help (I underestimated their navy, alas, so I was unable to land any real forces in Greece, but a small expeditionary force I looped around managed to seize Albania before I ended the war, setting me up for further expansion by vassalising Naples and allying France.

My god king lived so long that it ended up delaying my westernization, but I'm not going to complain about only suffering a 2-year regency in a run like this. Getting France in a PU was obviously lucky--it's been a long time since I outright inherited France by just having an RM (their 22-year-old king died without an heir, and France became mine w/o even having my dynasty, heh). I'd have preferred it to happen later so I could've fed them without taking the AE hit, but you don't turn down France

My "Haven Empire". This is a mod that puts a new nation in the Caribbean, in modern day Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The nation has religion "No Religion", and culture "Pirate". The idea is that pirates off the coast of Morocco or Portugal were blown to the Caribbean in a storm and created a nation there. They have a custom tech group, "Pirate", that increases tech cost by 25%. Their government type, "Pirate Court", grants 1 colonist and -20 Diplomatic Reputation. It's a pretty fun game. I colonized the Caribbean and mexico before setting my sights upon the 13 colonies, and later the spice islands, China, Siam, Japan, and Australia. Vassals are Iroquois and Tarascan. Allies are NIL, obviously. I eventually westernized off a Portugese core in Barbados. The Palatinate recieved the burgundian inheritence, and later got a PU over Sweden, which France contested, getting ROFLstomped quickly. France pulled herself together and allied with Austria and Russia to gang-beat the Palatinate twice. I managed to ally the Palatinate at some point during their decline, but I refused to commit my troops when France, Russia, and Austria attacked again. The year is 1723, not sure if I want to continue this game, no real competition anymore. Ming exploded and another chinese state managed to take most of the interior and Beijing before eventually exploding (Me destroying their armies may or may not have helped with that).

Gothic Invasion successfull !

very hard game, because of dumb coalitions of nearly all Europe against me any time...

Strategy :

Take Crete from Venice for future coring in the continent
Attack Austria and take Gorz for bridgehead in the HRE
Ally Ottomans for naval supremacy and Muscovy for securing eastern front when Poland/Lithuany dow you
Improve relations with France, Castille to escape massive blobs and impossible coalitions
Eat piece by piece the HRE

Why on Earth is it 1533?

Played a game until the end date 1821, the first one since 1.4. Teutonic Order -> Prussia, after campaigns with Theodoro and Albania comparatively pretty simple, didn't do very well either, considering the power of Prussia, but well...

Empire at the end: I was still in a war against most of the world, because I was a few days to late to siege down the last province of the coalition leader, with a year or two more time, I could've taken the rest of Sibiria:
eb5bc914a6.jpg
Vassals are Revolutionary Hungary (why can vassals become revolutionary targets anyway?) and Syria, Paradox HQ in Scandinavia and the white circle in France are client states.
92c9b93802.jpg

I was allied to France most of the game just smashed them twice at the end of the game, including Truce-Break. I won a league war against a numerical highly superior enemy thanks to Prussian troops, lost all my Manpower, but Protestant won. Then, not two years later the Swedish start from new (without me), I have two protestant leagues at the same time, still after the war catholicism was official religion again. Shortly before that I would've become emperor but then got a female ruler. After that I just dismantled the HRE.

Finished my first CK II > EU IV converter game. 't was legendary. I'll have to do something like this again someday. Started in 1066 as the duke of Bohemia, recreated the title of kingdom of Grear Moravia, eventually made myself the HRE emperor. Fun fact: my whole realm was actually broken up into pieces on export, so I had to reconquer virtually everything, but I was ok with it, it was much more pleasing to have to actually regain the status of a great power than to allready start as an OP blob. GM also got the Empire government type, which I was absolutely ok with, since it has OP bonuses.

Behold, the empire of Great Moravia, 1820

Why on Earth is it 1533?

OP is a pro. Probably did a WC next.

Because, with all the wars to conquer the HRE, eventually I had all of Europe against me. The goal was to claim every border next to my kingdom, then destroy coalitions, an every time a member of a coalition surrendered, it gave me this territory.
Then, just a game with the peacetime, DOWing OPMs before they returned to a new coalition.
Near the achievement, I just gave up with peacetime, and DOWed the last territories I needed, taking the -2 stab and 50 AE in the face.

I did this game only for the Steam success, I did not continue. I would have played differently in this case. More... subtle :) Here, I played in an agressive manner, managing stab, revolts, and coalitions as I could.
