Oman and subjects in 1820.
Started off allying Hejaz, then began claim wars with the surrounding Bedouin minors. I took Humanism as my first idea group, which is a really good fit for Oman, which starts off surrounded by heathenry.
Once I had finished uniting the Arabian peninsula, I set out to impose my enlightened rule on the East African coast. I allied the Ottomans, took exploration as my second idea group, beat the infidels to the Cape (around 1500), then went on a colonizing frenzy, cutting off the route to Asia.
The westerners managed to finally break into the Asia-Pacific theatre after the mid-1600s; when the French, Spanish, and Portuguese showed up in Australia and the South Pacific. By that time I had colonized or conquered most of the islands between the East African coast and Hawaii. The cross-worshipers then tried to set up shop in India and were just starting to get comfortable when I decided to expel them from my pristine waters in order to control the world's seasonings.
I never westernized, and ended the game with tech and ideas maxed out.
My monthly income was around 820-850 ducats.
