I did take provinces, I just never cored them.

Vassals will make claims, they tend to make them on your rivals, or countries rivaling you too. There's a bit of luck involved - generally militarist rulers will fabricate everywhere.

I'm guessing you made them Marches as well? They tend to fabricate much more than regular vassals as well.

Not much of a empire, mostly run for few achievements like Rising Sun, Trade Hegemon and Center of Attention but still I'm quite proud of it. Around 1650 I got PU over Spain so they became my personal lap dog. The only annoying thing is Poland didn't want buy Stettin cause i wanted clean borders

At the end of game i released Quebec to see NI but seriously this color is ehh...

The Batavian Republic, the Czech Republic, the Rigan Republic, Switzerland and Denmark are my vassals. Sweden has been my ally ever since I helped them against Denmark and Norway around 1550 or so.

Here's my Albanian empire right after achieving the Albania or Iberia achievement. I just wanted to share this so dont mind the ugly borders, have 105 years to clean that up.

As you can see Austria, Aragon and Granada are my vassals and France and Prussia my allies.

Here's my Malayan Empire.

I started as Malacca, and easily formed Malaya. Westernising, however, was horrifying. Then the Europeans, having peacefully colonised a few of the Spice Islands, decided that they wanted all of them, meaning that I had to (successfully) fight off various combinations of Spain, Great Britain, Portugal and the Netherlands on four separate occasions from 1680 onwards, which significantly slowed down my expansion in Asia.

I conquered all that land from India and China in about 50 years; it did necessitate spending, in total, about 12 years at 120% overextension, but with my absolutely obscene income, manpower and forcelimits, the rebels were not an issue.

France was really strong due to them PUing portugal and getting all their colonies, but I got them late game with the help of huge prussia
My prestige defaulted to +100 due to all the modifiers I got (conquest of Jerusalem/Rome/Mecca, the pentarchy, religious traditions, byzantine ambitions and glorious monument)
was really surprised by the amount of missions the byzantines get with the purple phoenix DLC.the missions reach all the way into italy, tunis and spain, they're really a tier 1 nation with those

My beautiful Bahmanid Empire.

Circa 100 years after start of the game. I notice that I can form Hindustan, but I choose not to, because I dislike its colour and I like the Bahmani coat of arms.

Here, the Indian Peninsula is more or less cleaned up, everything belonging to me, my ally Bengal, my now-rival Delhi or vassals.

More to come, hopefully, though I'm being painfully slowed down by some issues with the randomized New World.

My humble Switzerlake run. Probably the most pretty piece of map painting I have ever done.

One thing I noticed in this game, if you have no ports the only nations that will join a coalition against you are those you directly border. Exploiting this allowed me to annex the HRE in around 120 years, it then took 150 years to take out France due to 15 year truces . Also AE maxes out at -1000, who knew! Last thing, vassals have really wonky priorities, I fed East Frisia 150% OE when wiping out the Netherlands, after 50 years and millions of dead rebels he hadn't cored a single province, instead he was buying stab but because of OE, low RT and -3 stab the cost would have been massive. Instead of addressing the root cause of his low stab my vassal ended up in a vicious cycle, in the end I let rebels break him and then reconquered the land but this is a serious flaw if all AI's behave in this manner.

unfortunately this is pretty well documented yet persists. its awful. sometimes you can give them one province and then they'll get a stab event or peasants war and just collapse repeatedly because they love their stability too much.
