i came back to my italy game after like a month because i'm really bored...i finally conquered the entire italian region, but now i have to fight the ottomans and their infinite soldiers...
I am the emperor (3 electors vassalized), and tunisia, byzantium, and croatia are my other vassals.

Here's my Russian empire in 1820, my first ever complete game of EU4! I took a fair bit of East Asia and got a foothold in central Europe thanks to PUs with Poland and Brandenburg. My only regret though is that I didn't finish off Ming and Sweden. A great game nonetheless!

I started out as Gelre, allied Munster and France. To succeed like this, you need France as a long term ally! Always keep up good relations with France!
The Hansa and the minors around them and even Denmark will start coalitions against you! So be warned and improve relations with the country's that are in the coalition against you.
After I conquered all the Dutch and Flemish provinces, I ferried 10 troops over to Mali and declared war on them without an CB. I did this so I had an core closer to Cape of good hope and to profit of Mali's two gold nodes.
So why did you made an colony near the border with Mutapa and Kilwa? Mutapa and Kilwa both hold gold provinces, and gold provinces are fital to succed as the Dutch in Asia.
After a few calm years passed, I started a new colony on Diego Garcia so I could finally build my empire in Asia.
So what is next? Im going after the China Ware provinces Zhou holds, China Ware will boost your trade significantly.
Oh and for the most parts, I don't care about expanding in the HRE. IMO it's not worth it. And I don't care about the new world, since you get colonial nations and colonial nations suck.

Byzantine in 1573. Hard difficulty with roleplaying houserules. Just diploannexed Ragusa, while Montenegro, Bosnia and Wallachia are my vassals which I managed to diplovassalize. I'm about to conquer Serbia from Croatia. Most of Anatolia is of greek culture, so is Bulgaria. Just defeated the Mamluks and the Timurids trying to put me down a notch, they outnumbered me 1 to 2.
High points so far have been defeating a massive coalition of Italian states out to get me just after defeating the Ottomans. Also featuring out of control blobbing Austria fighting against BBB for Italy, Milan being in Union with France.

Update: Ottomans decided to be silly with their armies and use them all in Africa, so I was able to win battles in the Balakans and make the Ottomans give up most of their Balkan territory. I have annexed all my non-elector vassals, and I'll be attacking the Ottomans again perhaps once I've been able to get the Naval Ideas for the extra morale.

They just came back from annexing vassals, and I just sent 3 of them to improve relations with my elector vassals since there's a -165 malus from me annexing 5 vassals recently.
Didn't need to protectorate Asia because every province cored instantly because of the Ming's factions and Mughal's core creation cost reducer.
Well, I misread. You need to go fast, break truces, and bum-rush Europe. You get stability for what? 6 adm points? Use all your diplo points to reduce war exhaustion. You need to get some colonial nations up fast.

I've been doing exactly what you said for a while now. I ate the timurids whole in 20 years. Here's what the Ottomans have lost to me in ~5-6 wars.
Too bad this isnt because Serbia as such is strong or because its AI happened to be good.
It was all pretty much because Ottoman AI was retarded and never really cared for Balkans / Serbia / Wallachia. It never even bothered to try and regain the lost cores in Greece and Albania
