Hi I am super early with this one, but better sooner than later?
Before anyone says 'Too early' or whatever. I know but I want to be first.

Well... I could let you visualise what my empire will look like

As Sweden I'll take the modern-day Scandinavian provinces, start in Ingria and conquer my way down to Pommerania or stop at Danzig if the HRE is too much of a bother. Achieve this ASAP so I can join the colonial race with strength, ally England, mark Portugal, Spain and France/Netherlands as rivals and then colonise/conquer some Caribbean islands, Brazil and northern South America, get some logistical stopping points around Africa and then when me and England are done stomping the Iberians and whoever else joins in out of our claimed territories I'll turn east and annex east & south east Asia while expanding my African holdings and helping Britain wherever they're expanding. At home, I'll try to keep my neighbours weak and occupied in directions other than mine so I can maintain only minimal forces for possible emergency invasions and revolts, focusing most soldiers and ships outside of Europe. These goals for puny Sweden are practically megalomaniacal

If taking Ingria doesn't matter for controlling Russian trade I'll leave it alone, which I might do anyway just so I don't have to fight Russia depending on whether Russia will go for the Baltic provinces anyway or not.



Then I'll play Muscovy, take my European cores, reach the Black Sea so I can invade central America and terrorise the navy & territory of whoever controlled that region before I did, eat the balkans and then annex central asia and the middle east (but leaving the Ottomans alone except for the Arabian peninsula because it'd be boring otherwise). Then because the game has ended (as more conquest would upset me appreciating maps with balance of power) I'll simulate my rulers suffering from hubris with the pope and invade every European power that has its home in the Mediterranean in a mad reverse-Alexander to amuse myself; the Green Terror will live again

Im a rather carefull player, and probably build my empire alittle difrently then most... I usually play sweden

My focus be to unite the scandinavian provinces, Norway, splitting up denmark, taking gotland, skåne, halland and själland... id be sure to get the new islands off shetlands and faeroes and island...

Second face is to secure the easter borders, and that is to gain the kola, karelia, ingermanland and sweep up along the coast to secure the white sea, also further expansion along the frozen north...

Having this as a base allows me to colonize greenland and northern canada, or explore east as mentioned earlier...

I do this for several reasons, mostly is, that prolonged wars in the poor provinses of the artic, is something many avoids, defensive wars fought there and you can see their armies melt away... and the provinces might be poor as a base, but with production bonuses they become rather deasent... Its true that you ingringe upon russian sphere of interest, but there are plenty of richer spoils to the south off where im going, same goes for canada, and its far more possible that your getting it as most will go for the rich spoils, and when your established, no one really want to fight wars in the snow for whats bad provinces, unless of course your also focus production...

Well, if an official converter from CK2 gets established, than I'll begin in 1444 with a Latin Empire which roughly encompasses Iberia, Naples/Sicily, the African Mediterranean coast, Egypt, the Holy Land, Syria, Greece and Anatolia.

I'll begin with a continuation of what I was doing in CK2 at that point- munching up the Arab states that are the buffer between me and the Ilkhanate/Timurids to the east and possibly conquering northern Italy. Maybe I'll also fulfill every crusader's dream and conquer my way down to Mecca while I'm at it. Hey, the Latin Empire was formed by crusaders in 1204! There will be some headbuttting with England in the Navarre/Barcelona region of Iberia, but nothing I can't handle. There will, however, be titanic wars with the Mongols.

Once the Age of Exploration begins, then I'll be able to go crazy, since I'll begin with ports on both the Atlantic Ocean and the Red Sea, so I can make a mad dash for either the Americas or India, and the mapping and colonization of Africa will be a breeze.

A good final goal at this time will be the reconquest of all the old territories of the Roman Imperium in Europe and adding to it the Macedonian Empire of Alexander the Great.

The more I consider the possibilities, the more I'm thinking "Somebody stop me!" (a la "The Mask"), since I'm beginning the game as a huge blob of powerful, strategic territories. I'm hoping that there will be some good anti-blob meausres in place for huge empires.

You might have some problems with that, if the AI is half-decent. The Anglo-Portuguese Alliance stands for 719 years now (officially ratified 627 years ago), they would be stupid to throw that away for some upstart Sweden...

Anyway, my empire as Hungary will keep the Ottomans and the GH at bey (you see what I did there?) until the weaker one collapses, then take all of the European territory of the other one, just like real life except with no Austrian "help". Oh, I'll see the PU with Poland to the end (not the second one that ended in 1444, with Poland as senior) (Anyway, did the Battle of Varna happen before or after gamestart?), but the 1370-1382 one. Hopefully getting some Mediterranean islands as well (For example, say, Venice), Hungary can then join the second colonization wave before all overseas territories are claimed, and even have the HRE run for his money in the elections. In the end, while not all the map is painted with its color, Hungary will have a thumb on the ever-declining Mediterranean trade, and will get more prosperous when I decide to make the Suez canal a few centuries early.

Well, I'm gonna establish merchant Empire. My Venice will first of all take last bits of Byzantines from under the very nose of Turks. Then we will take over Liguria, of course, leaving no Genoese free. As everyone in Med would be somewhat pissed at us for aggression, Venetian ships will sail to the Baltic, persuading Hansa that they are better under The Most Serene Republic. Perhaps we will take over Flanders as well on our way here.
Afterwards, it would be just taking occasional coastal provinces (Alexandria is of great importance, both improving our share of Med trade and allowing to make Doge-controlled path to Red Sea), dominating seas and balkanizing land. Soon colonization will follow, and with Azores taken from unworthy Portuguese, it should be possible to deny most of the New World for other nations.

Lol I love how everyone is picturing their empires. This is mine.
Start in Castille in 1444 firstly get personal unions with Aragon. Then annex portugal and Granada. Form spain before the 1490s and colonize the azores and canary islands. Then from the remaining time from forming Spain and not being able to colonize the Americas I will push down into Africa. At the end date (1841??) I expect to have all of spain, north africa, Mediterranean islands like, sardinia, sicily, crete. And a large colonial empire in Africa, and perhaps owning all of the Americas, maybe owning the papacy and to be the true defender of the Catholic faith. Maybe even some places in Asia?

I will start in 1444 as brandenburg for my second game, take over pommerania, find a way to get into prussia and become prussia, i will convert away so that pesky pope will leave me alone, expand the historical prussian borders(altough i will try to keep poland from being wiped out, i mean imma take stuff from em but not full on parition) then unite germany. Then do what any able bodied german should do atleast once in their life....conquer paris

edit:but whenever possible i will destroy venice, they betrayed byzantium and even albania(they attacked skanderbeg while he was fighting the ottoman, greedy dumb merchants)
