At least you got to duel the person who killed you, as opposed to the frequent "Oops you died fighting an army you outnumbered 10 to 1 and which was retreating". Man do I hate the ridiculous frequency with which you can die in battle, and it's always I fight you can win easily too.
Doesn´t HIP have mechanic to prevent random deaths and only kill you in a duel? I don´t tend to lead armies (because even with those duels, it is just safer to stay in your castle, unless you have amazing Martial and have battles where slightly better commanders can turn the tides of battle), but I did it in my Edessa playthrough because I had characters with fitting personality traits and none of them died randomly (including my sons who were commanders for years). Maybe I just got lucky, but I really think you can´t just die randomly in a battle in this mod.

My current restored Roman Empire campaign and my current emperor, Augustus II. The empire is devolved into several exarchates with numerous vassal kingdoms and tribes with even the mighty Magyar at the heel of the Basileus. Wagadu has been converted to the Orthodox faith by an zealous Byzantine priest and Sunni Islam is currently the least influential faith in the world. Britannia and the remainder of North Africa are the next targets.

308 troops. Good luck holding on to that. :D

(Yeah yeah, I know it's normal shortly after an invasion)
Dunno, 308's better than the 300.

How and from where did you conquer the ERE at the young age of 21? This must have been a real coup. Congratulations. Please enligten us!
300 Spartans would also be nice :p

Harald Hårfagre, jarl of Viken, starts with some event troops. I picked the ambition to become king of Norway, and started to subjugate as much of Scandinavia as I could. While that was going on, I sent a small expedition to conquer Capua, reliogiusly isolated, as a base in the Mediterranean. Then I started to prepare invasion of Bulgaria before my holding size grew too much in Norway, and raided the shit out of the rich Italian city-states. I invaded Bulgaria with event troops and mercenaries while they were fighting somone in the north. Then I converted to Orthodox, and swore fealty to the Byzantine emperor. I used the prestige and money from Italy to pay everyone to support my claim to the imperial throne. I had no levies myself, but I had full vassal levies from the other rebels, and Harald is a good commander, even if I almost died in personal combat against the emperor

So you even killed the emperor in personal combat? Way to go. Sounds truly epic.

Well, it pings on any occasion in which a normal revolt would normally ping. If the revolt is to be a heretical revolt, then we offload it to the heresy revolt stuff (which is just modified vanilla). If it is to be a liberation revolt, then we offload it to the liberation revolt stuff. If it is to be a peasant revolt, we offload it to the peasant revolt stuff. If it is to be a religious revolt (the top liege's religion is hostile to the province's religion and the province is not a heresy), then we offload it to our custom religious revolt code.

To my knowledge no historical holy wars are embedded into the province histories regarding the modifiers normally applied on holy war.

Voivodat of România. Hungary and Croatia are pretty much my puppet states, with Serbia , the Russian principalities, and the kebab hordes to follow
ck2_20.png

Short term goals are to remove Beçenek kebab culture from the eastern provinces, improve the economy, and dynastic shenanigans in the Roman Empire. Long term goal is to restore Rome and spread superior Românian culture

This had to be the most unlucky starts ever. This guy refused to have a son.. He had twin girls, His daughters had daughters It was not until his second born daughter had a son did he have a heir to the throne of the duchy. And the trend continued with many more granddaughters than Grandsons appearing. It must be something on Sardinia or maybe it was just RNG. But still pretty strange

20171218191609_1.jpg

Even after having twins.. The trend Continuned
