Bring Aquitaine into the fold. The yellow blobs must Unite. So this isn't 'my' empire, but rather my character's wife's empire. She's kinda taken Europe by storm. Empress of the HRE.

I can't say I didn't effect this at all, because I helped her win the Kingdom of Hungary against her brother, but everything after that was her doing.
Well that's gonna upset the balance of the game once your son inherits. If the inheritance laws match up. Perhaps consider splitting the ERE and the HRE up yourself![]()
The most important question about the two empires united is… will the name look good on the map?As it is, Moravia is vital Namensraum…

Well, that monstrosity would help you get multiple duchies you need for restoration. Also, you could destroy HRE title, release all its de jure vassals and keep only Italy. After all, there can only be one Roman Empire.
Gamey to annex the HRE title and release its vassals? Seems like the least gamey choice (if you end up with the HRE title), actually. Releasing vassals would be optional; it's more just to preempt the inevitable massive independence rebellion that will happen if you destroy their de jure liege title and attempt to bind them non-de-jure.Not a bad idea, but it feels kinda gamey to me.

The true Empire is, frankly, a wreck. I've been doing everything I can to repair the damage a succession of emperors in a matter of months and repeated invasions did to it, but it's like trying to glue a vase back together. I might get there eventually, but I'm in no position to take on the massive rebellion that would entail.
Really glad to hear that our new civil war mechanics and such are actually presenting a decent challenge to player lieges of large realms (and some fun intrigue for your mental AAR).
Hey there, i've got some screenshots too: http://imgur.com/a/iTg0p
