Could you describe this problem? Last time I've played this mod, it was an alpha and still called Steppe Wolf, so I'm not really remembering much of it.
Tech costs a ridiculous amount, so virtually no progression is made throughout the entire game.

I think they fixed that. You can also purchase a temporary boost if you have enough money - and you have always enough money.

I'm surprised you still haven't taken western Europe.. Especially since you have Britain and Rome in your empire.

EDIT: 666th post, beware, the end is nigh!

I've never attacked Rome directly, but there are events like 'Goths sack Rome' and such, so I've just had to crush these little tribes instead of going toe-to-toe with the Romans. Not even sure, if I'd have enough troops to win.

If you can burn off the infamy, then yes. Otherwise you'll be facing rebels spawning from the depths of hell in every province...

Here is my campaign as the Pope. It is 1438, and by now I have a large part of Italy, although still far from enough to declare the Kingdom of God on Earth. Austria is also my ally. I have made a few interesting observations about the campaign, however. The Ottoman Empire appears to be somewhat weak, with Venice and Greek minor countries controlling much of their former holdings in Europe, and the Byzantine Empire is still around. The also got Adana, which I've never seen them do; taking control of a Middle Eastern province. Genoa has been ousted from Italy, and is now relocated around Crimea. I am also surrounded by a couple of very large and growing countries, like France and Hungary, which may be problems in fifty years or less.

For some reason, I'm having difficulty in making money, only making 7.53 ducats a year, and losing a little bit of money every month. What advice do you have for playing as the Papal State? Am I doing all right for 1438?

Oh jeez, I'm really lost. I can't find my capital so I moved it here.

Persia is my vassal, and what I used to move my troops across horde land. Then Baluchistan revolted from the Timurids so I conquered them and half of Rajputana.

If your rules dont prevent you from going over the infamy limit then yes ( I'm not sure what kind of penalties DT has on this though ), but no way under the limit. You simply can't burn off enough infamy seeing how badly nomads did and England ( and maybe France ) most likely colonizing Americas already.

You're doing all right.
Get gold provinces from Aqileia, Venice and Liguria COT's to get easy monopoly in there and more money.
Then push to Austria for more gold or Portugal or Castille to slow their colonizing.
And wage wars in Africa or anywhere you feel safe to get your Army tradition close to 100.
Then get some great generals and the world is yours.

That is certainly a lovely France, horrid borders but a good size.

As for GB existing and England existing, get this, I've formed GB, released Scotland, Wales and England as my Vassal, allowing GB and myself to have epic navies, whilst Scotland and Wales had nice armies. People were afraid to DoW on me, even though I went down to OPM with ludicrous Vassals. Decided to DoW on Castille with Portugal as my allies. GB ended up where most of Castille/Aragon was.

I then moved onto destroying Portugal before Diplo-Annexing Wales and Scotland (which still had GB cores), and then England, then went on to wipe Navarra and French Minors from the map, then worked my way through Europe leaving the "big boys" until I had such an advantage over them that they couldn't compete. By the end Ottomans were my only competition having absorbed most of Golden horde, Oirat horde, a large chunk of India and Mongol Khanate

just started to westernize 'cause the Europeans haven't seem to bothered themselves with Africa until Castille finally conquered parts of Mutapa a few years ago.
