Russia after the First Russian-Golden Horde war

EDIT/Update:
bfKO23T.jpg

Russia after the 2nd Russian - Golden Horde war and the conqeust of Novrogrod.
Also the 1st Russian-Polish war lasted over 3 years and left 300.000 men dead(and my forces only advanced 2 or 3 provinces deep in Lithuania).

That's Russia on 5.2/Very Hard. Force limit is 1M, manpower ~2M. Westernized and Military Modernized.
Quite recently forced PU on Hungary, France and Prussia, but that's was not fun w/ 1M army.
It was fun to survive Overextension (+3RR) plus Time of Troubles (+10RR) w/ tons of heathen provinces for decades in the middle of the game.

I really like how dry and light that map looks. As the guy who's jury rigging his EU3 with a bunch of visual mods, I must know this name. Water is nice and blue and everything looks smooth.

I think it's MPM (More Provinces Mod)

Got lucky PU with Mamluks in 1403 after claiming the throne, no war needed. I'm guaranteeing Algiers so that Europeans don't mess with them. Castille got some major land in Scandinavia earlier, but by now they've lost some of it. Austria took out TO and now is being annoying Emperor declaring war every 5-10 years and I don't see any point in going to take those lands from him. The yellow in North-Africa is Scotland and greyish is Hansa. I will most likely use patriots later on to get them join Algiers.

Plans for 0-10 years:

-Take rest of Iberian coastline and southern France/Provence
-Take Kerman & Hormuz from Timurids, dissolve alliance with Mamluks and let them colonize 7 blocked off Timurids provinces while I push for India
-Block Liethuania from Golden Horde and hope GH beats the Russians around.

10-50:

-Take out France, Burgundy, England & Scotland ( Ireland if no OPMs )
-Dissolve HRE to get rid of OPMs
-Form personal union with Algiers
-Colonize hordes

Before 1821:

-World Conquest

I currently have 20 year-old 7-8-8 emperor and I hope he will live to be atleast 80 so I can modernize and westernize with him.

Nice. What are your plans for China? Kill all of their troops and let the hordes take it? How much infamy are you burning a year?

Start Date? How does Denmark-Norway exist and Sweden broke off? Never happens in my games they both break of or neighter one does.
1399. Denmark expanded into the Baltics but not fast enough to keep relations with Sweden positive. However they were still able to restore the personal union so Denmark may inherit Sweden still. Norway has resurfaced twice due to revolts so far and currently holds Iceland.

Vassal Empire?
Sort of, but not in Europe. I became emperor by dumb luck. Austria is hated by everyone for claiming every throne possible; Bohemia and Milan (previous emperors) have been torn asunder by Austria, and no one else has any charisma or drive to become emperor.

The shtick of this game is having a large overseas empire (something I loathe) but have those oversea provinces vassals. The income I get through vassal taxation is roughly the same as 50% tariffs in my tests. No need for a large navy, troops to defend the land, and my vassal has already begun to colonize (two provinces so far). I plan on doing the same in India once the reformation settles down (now that I'm the emperor).

mecklenburg_1512_income.jpg

As you can see so far I'm conquering/converting land, and then selling it.

My vassal's income in comparison:

To be honest I haven't thought that far ahead. There is a possibility that I cant make it without going over the infamy limit. I was unlucky in the start as Burdungy made Milan release Parma, Siena ja Pisa before I was able to come into the area. but then again Papal State conquered Firenze so that saved me 1 infamy.

Currently I burn 1,3 infamy/year.

This is my 2nd try after I abandoned my first one in 1444. In the first game I had much better time taking Italy, but for some reason I took some provinces from Venice for 4 infamy per province and forgot to build Embassy so my infamy was just too shitty.

Decided to try a Poland campaign with normal settings/no lucky nations. On my first attempt I learned very quickly I could not fight multiple wars and take on the Golden Horde right from the starting line - ended in a terrible regency and total occupation of my country within several years. My second attempt began with a regency right from the gate and me losing the personal union with Lithuania followed by a nasty Bohemian war.

So I tried again and made sure to send out my diplomats before hitting the play button and swallowed my pride, deciding to pay tribute to the horde so I could focus on the Russian front. I landed an alliance with Pomerania and Austria which would prove to be a wonderful investment in the years ahead. Everything fell into place when I moved to annex Mazovia who was guaranteed by Hungary who then pulled Bohemia into the war who was then followed by Bavaria and OPM german states. Austria and her allies responded and Germany went up in flames over the pitiful Mazovia. Several decades of claiming smaller thrones, releasing nations, aggressive subjection, and wonderful allies has resulted in a secure Polish empire by 1430.

Vassals: Pomerania, Brandenburg, Teutonic Order, Hungary, Croatia, Transylvania, Wallachia, Moldavia, Serbia, and Bosnia.

The western European powers seem to be expanding in a very clean style. I attempted to stop England's expansion into Scandinavian but the war was far to costly and though I forced the release of the Irish states and Wales they were quickly annexed thereafter and GB was formed. The Ottomans collapsed relatively early allowing for a very colorful Asia Minor. I had hope for the forming Byzantium and Aydin but soon enough Castille arrived to absorb the weaker Greek nations.

Excommunication nearly destroyed my gains at the turn of the century when Crete (a nation I released from the control of Naples at much expense of manpower) ousted me from the church - regardless of the fact of our relationship and that I had been forcing religion on heathen states on my penny! Of course this happened right after my integration of Lithuania, the beginning of my Golden Horde conquest campaign, and the westernize event. Bavaria and her German allies stormed my borders and would cost me some 50k in manpower before a status quo was reached. Luckily Austria who was allied with Bavaria only broke alliance with me but did not respond, shortly after Austria would lift the excommunication when she gained the papal controller! Second game in a row when Austria has turned out to be a worthy ally, seems other AI nations never come through with their word.

That west versus east... GB formed, France almost whole and Castille on it's way to form Spain. All very nice and neat. The you show the basket case called Asia minor. :D I have no idea whatsoever how Aydin can be formed ( well from rebels ofc but what province? ), Dulkas migrating from east Asia minor to west Asia minor and Byzantines beating OE. I know Byz can beat OE, but just never seen it myself.

See Brythonia Rise!(formed by brittany, MEIOU you have to own/vasslize/PU brittany, scotland, wales, ireland)

brythonia.png

Started off as brittany, ate the stab hit and went into ireland. Took one province there, got conquest missions for 3 other parts of ireland. Luckily france was busy elsewhere. As for england they were invaded by castille, scotland and denmark(who would take tyrone and wessex) who wiped out their armies and fleet. Then england got nailed with a peasant war. By the time id cleaned up in ireland(had connacht vassalized, tyrone owned by denmark) england had no armies and was half rebel occupied. Ate another stability hit and i launched C-Day. After landing in wales, i annexed wales and one other province. At the time my king was called artur so i save game editted and game him "arthur" as his name :D Over the next couple decades i kept founding rebels and pushing into england. Scotland took a decent bit of england then i forced a PU on scotland.I got insanely lucky and managed an alliance with france. The last 20 years or so have seen me consolidating and starting my colonization. Thus far i have a couple islands in the lesser antilles and the greatest new world province of timucua.

Other notes, the ming are slowly eating the hordes
Timurids stayed alive and culture changed to persian somehow. Thus the mega huge persia to the east.
Blue horde(golden horde) conquered some of the other hordes to the east, formed the mongol empire although they're slowly being devoured by persia
Yes thats firenze(florence/tuscany) in hungary
Im also insanely happy that turkey is actually doing very good for once. Although austria didnt do anything for like 80 years until they finally mostly ate styria
See Moscowvy rise!

Edit:ive been playing mostly handsoff with europe, baring some fighting in france to keep them upright i want to see how europe plays out. Im renaming all of the provinces into a breton/irish/welsh name. Im going to leave SE england to england, that can be their land and i'll ignore them(my RP i suppose). Once i inherit scotland, im going to most likely release scotland as a vassal and leave them there, freedom(ish) for scotland

Here's my Dutch Empire. It's a leader in trade and income, controlling all of the West and East Indies. It has ALMOST maxed out all techs (so close but so far: each 72 lever tech costed 300k at this point, which would take 100 months EACH). Most fun story: Scotland started out dominating England and almost took over all of Britain. The remnants of England were inherited by Sweden. England revolted in London, and somehow rose back up to claim almost all of the British Isles.

I decided on doing a fun Middle Eastern campaign

6xsffxt.jpg

I've had many opportunities to expand into the Mamlukes, but mass revolts and occasional Timurid resurgence made this far slower than I hoped. Hopefully Mughals at some point!
