Why is that a concern? I doubt it will ever be updated on steam as it is a beta patch, but that doesn't mean you can't download the files and just unzip/unrar them to your game folder...

I definitely plan on taking the middle east after making some progress in Europe. After devastating my main imperial rivals I should have the capacity to do both more or less simultaneously. I already have the Pentarchy and even now I have plenty of missionaries without yet controlling Mecca. I generally keep Innovative at 2 to avoid the heresy event.
Getting the Bosphorus Sound Toll bonus is fairly simple in the Byzantium game since conquering the Ottomans is (usually) the first major task. They quickly get the provinces necessary to trigger it. My economy is most dependent on trade and have kept Free Trade at 2 to avoid losing the bonus. I took a decision without thinking to increase it to 3 and lost it. After moving the slider back I noticed the difference was significant, although relatively early in the game it was not.
I only glance at this thread every now and then. I certainly have not read all of it; so I was merely saying that I hadn't seen one before, not that it had never been done.
With the support of emperor Demetrios of Byzantium and the faithful Bishop Mehmet I of Ramazan, in his up to now 37 (it's 1494) years as the Grandmaster, Filippus I has shaped his Monastic Order from controlling nothing but a few scattered islands, some trade and a tiny exclave city to a dominant power in Asia minor. The collapsing Timurid empire is paying reparations, the former owner of the land, the Ottoman empire is in no condition to recover. Conversion of the population are going well. The last mediterranean crusader state - the former brothers Naxos are still alive but are now heretics - is no longer the last but THE ONE.

Bohemia -> HRE
At the begining of the game i got a PU with Hungary and I conquered Poland.Eventualy i came to inheriting Hungary and invading Polotsk and Ukraine.Skiping to around the start of the 17th century i became protestant and started converting the states in the HRE (cuz im the emperor :happy: ) and thus I gained allot of Imperial Authority. Several reforms and one defeated Gloden Horde later (and yes the golden horde survived to the mid 16th century) I formed the HRE. Then a giant war started (France,Sweden,Muscowy,England and one big Naples vs HRE and Spain). From that war i cut France in 3 parts and eventualy eliminated european France and England (right after it formed Great Britain), also i took some land from the russians. 3 wars with Naples, 2 wars with Great Britain and 4 wars with France later what you see in the map is the world.

My current game as Castille soon to be Spain. I hadn't played it a while. I started to day and thought lets try Castille. Granada was quite an easy one to get but I couldn't grab some extra land of Morocco, because whole Africa and the Ottomans were inbound. So I just annexed Grananda with for a core in Gibraltar. Then I instantly claimed Aragons throne, who was a previous ally against Granada etc. Sicily answered the call, I first annexed them with the Italian Ambition mission (all cores) and now I'm in a PU with Aragon, I'm just out of a Regency. I'm still thinking about what I should do, because a European, Africa or American power. Maybe even 2 or all 3, I usually play German states, so suggestions?

hmm try and take Naples or maybe start going towards early colonization

Africa is pretty poor overall, I'd take the provinces that produce gold myself.
Central and South America are fairly rich compared to North America. I usually take the Bahamas first then go from there.

- Algiers has been conquering like crazy in the last 5 years.
- Scotland pulled me into the most useless war versus Scandanavian nations and Naxos, now they are occupying Malta and Balearas. And their navy is a little stronger so I can't free those islands.

That bohemia... i saw bohemia having PU with pommeriana MORE THAN ONCE... they tend to take pommeriana quite often. And bohemia is HRE, so burgundy, because they are friendly to them, will very likely join the HRE, all the provinces they have.
The Palatinate right before forming Germany. Vassalized most of the minor nations in the HRE. Holland is my vassal, feeding them for form Netherlands and to control all the colonial lands. Eventually I will connect my lands and annex the other vassals.

Colonize the entirety of the Caribbean and then move up the eastern seaboard. That's maximum profit right there.
Take the Cape of Good Hope and then some East Asian seaports for some juicy decisions.

I admit I had to do a fair bit of baby-sitting after a while due to massive war exhaustion on their part. The Ottomans as well. (Allied to both.)

I tried to take care of Dai Viet after they got to a certain size. They had a PU with Manchu but they lost it for some reason, even with 200 relations. I had to defend them from Japan a few times. As for Japan, since I never see them get anywhere, I tried a simple tweak to the shogunate 50 years into the game to let the daimyos fight each other more easily, and they formed in the 1660s.
The remnant of the Timurids caused huge WE for everyone and really ruined the late game here, no matter how much I tried to play rebel hunter.

Revive the German Federation, with you controlling what Prussia did pre-1871, and the other lands in Germany being controlled by who controlled it before the German Empire

Why not? Everything can happen in a EU3-game... just because it's not SteppeWolf doesn't mean Bulgaria can't be strong. Or have you neither seen a minor power becoming big?
