For the love of god, ytg, don't use the spray tool in Paint to "fix" borders
Yes, you don't need to use so advanced tools, you can use wordpad instead.
Personally, if you're going to go in for map-editing, I'd have united the Lotharingian minors under Burgundy to form a central buffer-state.
I only have old screenshots I took, but what makes Austria even more disturbing than its horrible borders is the number of vassals it has.
This is how everything looks now and my plans to clean the borders. My vassals Brabant and [edit: the junior partner in my personal union,] Castille only need a few more years to form The Netherlands and Spain.
It is absolutely maddening trying to get the AI to shift possession of land and clean these borders.

I've been grabbing a lot of land and selling it to other countries to make things look nicer. Hence the high infamy.

161 years to go, plenty o' time. Need to wrap things up in Iberia and wipe out Croatia, which was a product of one of my stupidest strategic decisions (using rebel funding to gain their freedom from Bohemia, then not conquering them while I had the chance). The world is at my knees but there is a problem: Burgundy. I have 600,000 soldier and they have 300,000 which is more than enough to destroy me in a war since they have hoarded all the big players in their alliance and I am ridiculously stretched across my borders that my fighting capacity is only about 250,000-400,000 soldiers depending on how large war we are talking about (HRE wars end up badly when Austria can bring its doomstacks to wipe out my small border garrisons).
Only three nations in the Mediterraean: Me, Venice and the Knights. Need to kill them sooner or later but never got around it though both have been spamming spies on me recently so once my infamy drops enough I'll teach those punks a lesson of how funny it is. EDIT: And of course there's Savoy as well. Had to take them out for a long while but they've been allied with Burgundy for centuries.

Baghdad didn't exist when the Roman's made their last visit and even then that was only for a few years. Hardly worth fretting over.
