Barely shown is the Imperial Africa and Imperial South America, the first stretching from shown on the picture down to Kongo and including the Cape and Madagascar. Imperial South America stretches from Honduras to Uruguay, stopped slightly by Castillan holdings on the tip of Brazil.

Milan>Italy>Holy Roman Empire in 202 years, this pic taken shortly after unification. I've played 50 years more which has among other things lead to:

*Personal Unions with Flanders and Castille
*Land gains in Iberia (northen tip of Aragon to the lone Aragon province in the south), France(everything directly south of Burbonnaise as well as Normandy with provinces connecting it to the main empire), Austria (Ruthenia and Sopron) and Greece (the currently castillan parts)
*Divisions of other powers, France is now only Paris and three colonies in South America and several more small french states have popped up, Aragon is an OPM, Styria, Hungary and Poland have been released from Austria, Sweden has lost a couple of states in Russia and Jylland is again Danish, but still have a fairly extended Empire.
*My vassal Venice, still free on this map, has been annexed peacefully.
*My vassals are Denmark, Styria, Bosnia and Serbia as well as some french states I can't remember.
*Allies are Tunisia, some other French states (there's 8 or so of them), Zapotec (liberated from France) Teutonic Order, Danzig (the green south of my Kurland/Livland holdings and directly east of TO Riga)
*Great Britain are in a PU with Brittany and has the one province on the coast directly south of it, they're interfering with my sphere of influence...

My goal is now to re-conquer the Roman Empire, starting in the west. For legitimacy reasons I plan on entering a PU with Byzantium, I'm currently charming them, but I might need to speed things along, so some "obscure claims" might be needed (what do you mean obscure? I'm the Holy Roman Emperor, they are technically the "Roman Empire" it's nothing 'obscure' about that!)

Heres my soon-to-be-Prussia Teutonic game. This time, instead of crusading in Russia, i chose to expand in HRE. This is a bit tricky, as you generally want to avoid having to fight your war target + emperor (dow from outside HRE drags in HRE emp.) so instead of attacking countries, i guarantee small ones around me, and let the AI take initiative. It was also fun to watch Denmark blob into HRE, only to lose everything 10 years later to me

Actually I didn't, doesn't make my point less true though, only have to include step Get Some Mods first.

Theres an island country of Gotland, but the other one (yellowish in screen shot) doesnt exist in Eu3 DW vanilla, and i think i would know, since i sort of created this mod, added all these new revolters myself, so yeh trust me, if you wanna play it, youll have to use mod.

If the current famine hit that something would go VERY VERY WRONG.

Got really lucky in my early wars with France, which let me take almost all of their lands. I don't have much of anything in Africa or Asia but I have the most land in the New World, though Venice grabbed the richest parts. My Economy is doing pretty awesome, able to mint enough for a profit and still have -.02 on the inflation-o-meter. Militarily I'm fairly weak, with only about 30 odd thousand troops in Brittany and another 15k in Breton America. My Navy is currently second largest, but not second best since I need to focus more on my Sea Power to even hope to compete with Britain if I have another COlonial War with them. Best chance I have for winning that is to invade Britian itself, but the seemed to have learned from the past two wars and keep about 40k troops there, probably more since I've checked last.

This was my first game of DW. I started in 1399 as Cyprus and choose to completely ignore the New World and had a try as a colonial power in East Indies. It proved to be a lot more challenging than in H3T with existing forts in countries that used to be easy to "milk" for money. Moreover the vicinity of The Mamelukes made the Muslim countries in Africa almost intangible. After securing the South Africa the next step was India. After a while I choose to continue on two fronts, India and Middle East. The end result is this:

Started as Teutonic order, converted to Protestant and formed Prussia, lost awesome Monastic Order government, and became feudal monarchy. Some time later following missions i got enough provinces to form Germany so i did it. Almost immediately after reformed into an Empire, which seems only suitable for Germany, we wont settle for anything less than Empire!

Ottomans are growing, luckily for me toward east, so Moscovy's dream of Russian Empire will most likely fail as they are severely outmatched in every way, size, tech, income, quality, their utter defeat is inevitable. Middle east and central Asia might look blobbified, but its been that way for about 100 years: with good leader one country rises, after the guy dies, they fall apart and someone else takes their spot. I dont mess with them, they dont mess with me, im happy.

No offense, but your SAmerican Cyprus just felt unnatural. . There's something more elegant and realistic to Clavdivs' Cyprus. At least that's the vibe I personally get.
