August 1519, just before my computer went off.
Brazil, Morocco (Casablanca), Benin and Oyo were my acquisitions.

Lots of Diplomatic Ideas, very good on trade, Military Tech and a great fleet (thank you Morocco) brought me a good position on the Rankings (specially Diplomatic and Administrative):

Play up to Dec. 1508 as the Ottomans. Made it 2nd in score, and would have made it to 1st, in another month (Austria was 1st).

Things of Interest:

I broke Venice in a costly war (taking Crete and the island me and Naples, and releasing Naxzos), so bad in fact, that Austria then took almost everything else.

A few months after the true with Naxzos ended, I delceared war for it, and set off a cascading alliance. That alliance involved, Poland, Lithuania, Venice, Bosnia, The Knights, and of course Nazos. They easily outnumbers me 2 to 1, even with my vassals. Luckly, I got the armies separated (and with winter killing off troops), I was able to defeat them and take Nazos. Rebels stopped any further chance of taking more.

I also was only ten points away from making Tripoli a vassal. If good have played longer, I would have surrounded The Mamluks...

This is my 2nd time playing Portugal. Both times Spain formed within a year, so I decided to punish them for being so ambitious. Captured Navarra and it's 2 provinces, as well as much of Northern Spain.



It was quite difficult to do since they had somewhere close to ~60k troops with Aragon, but I managed it with the help of mercs (no loans). I cored all in screenshot and then added on Andalucía, Cordoba, and some other stuff later once I had the advantage (and the coalitions broke down against me).

Nice work! I was thinking of doing a similar thing, but hoping to get France to ally me.. But since France wasn't willing, I decided not to since I thought I'd be surely dead. xD

My Euro-Empire by the end of the game. Took all of the rich provinces in Northern Africa and had them cored. Was making a pretty decent amount of money in trade and my manpower/income was rising steadily. Would have kept going but the rest of the land just wasn't worth it. Around the year 1514 or so I had a choice to either start colonizing or do another war with Morocco, so I went the route of the explorer.

Jesus Christ. I love these little islands. You get additional manpower/tax base if you don't attack the natives, 6 base tax each, and a rare resource. But they have high numbers of tribe-people, so they required their own little garrisons until they were fully-fledged provinces of their own. Too bad that colonization takes so long and is so expensive, or else I would have gobbled these up as quickly as I could in the demo.

Finally, one minor note: England got their butts handed to them by France. Wales and Cornwall had both formed by the end of the demo and I dropped from 1st Diplomatic place to about 13th simply because England fell apart militarily and I was their ally.

I was testing some colonisation features. It worked to some extend, but it made me horribly brankrupt!
I was losing about 1500/month and the max loan cap hit every second, and every 5 days i went bankrupt.
You could do this as long as your colonies are growing, and no one declares war on you. (because the army don't like to fight when you went bankrupt)
The good thing about this is, everything is for free . My colonies still grew with 50/year and i kept building too, when a new load was activated .

This was possible because i could magically core some of the provinces i took from Creek, so my colonisation distance wasn't too far

Tested the usefulness of a trade route around Africa with Portugal. Sadly I was disturbed by a war with Naples and 2 big wars with France who forced me to transfer troops all the way back to Europe for maybe a decade.

Ended with second largest navy and province count, and highest trade income. Colonies and conquered provinces are in the West African coast, Kongo, South Africa, Somalia, Zanzibar, Aden, Muscat, Sind and Maldives.

OMG how?
I didnt really tried to play with venice (I hated this country even in EU3 and EU2), but the little time I did played it was just frastrating and hard.

In a normal (non-demo) game, I would suggest allying Spain - remembering that once Castille becomes Spain, you lose the alliance if you had it with Castille - and wait for when they get involved in a war with France or HRE. Because you're in an alliance, you can watch how they're doing. If they're losing most of their troops, unally, declare. Voila', you've done what I did with half the work and less money. Once you have that much territory, the Iberian peninsula is yours.

Also, because Navarra was ripe for a claim, I royal marriaged them immediately and then claimed their throne (but annexed them instead ).

First successful Venice game, managed to take Ragusa, Rhodes, Ferrara, Gorz, Mantua and Romagna, and give Austria a thorough bitchslapping (Well, technically France bitchslapped them and I took advantage)

I was stupid enough to lose the screens but at least I still have the worldmap for the awesome Ottoman Empire I created!
Unfortunately I think it would collapse within a few years due to rioting xD
The African expansion was the hardest part though.

I had the same problem as Venice. I even offered my provinces consistently to them and they kept denying regardless. And just as I finally got peace with the Ottomans, Austria declared war on me :/ I outright gave up at that moment lol

Just my Portugese colonial empire... But I had SO many rebel problems in Mexico. At one point they succeeded rebelling and that forced the state religion to be changed to Animist... Yeah I think that needs to be changed. :/

That sounds like a lot of fun...

Playthrough as Venice

Here's my playthrough of Venice. I started off with some pretty easy stuff, stealing Ragusa and a couple of provinces from Naples. Then I grabbed the Hungarian coastal province from a trade war. Conquested the Papal States and a few more provinces from Naples. Finally the big war with Austria came up. I had formed alliances with France, Bohemia (and its vassal Hungary), and Poland (and its partner Lithuania). Austria was in the midst of a war with Munster and was properly getting her ass kicked. She never stood a chance. Stole the coastal Austrian province as well as another in the mountains and received over 850+ ducats with the peace offer. The game ended before I had a chance to finish off Naples or start really annexing the northern Italian minors. Never once had a problem with the Ottomans. I even had them embargoed from day one.

Great job! Didn't thought it possibly in only 28 years. Coring and admin tech is quite expensive if you'r unlucky and get a stupid heir.
