Excuse but I do not recalling treating others' spec as inferior. Plus I base the my assumption of what information that was giving. Also, you are assuming that this individual knows about tweaking and overclocking. Then accusing me of being a snob?
Nobody said anything about tweaking and overclocking.
The Turbo speed is a basic out-of-the-box feature, you don't need to overclock it.
These CPU's are designed with an idle speed (the 2.2Ghz), and a socalled 'Turbo' speed (named by Intel, not me) that a single core hits when a task requires it, such as videogames.
Listed core speed is never the actual top speed.
My comment about specs snobbery was based on the fact you decided to post your top-tier specs in a topic for people to ask "Can my system run it", and you definitely didn't post it as a question. You were showing off. It's distasteful.
And your very next comment was telling someone that a set of today's new mid-range specs was "on the minimum side", when the minimum specs for this game are
a 10 year old medium PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo and a GTX 260.
And the recommended specs are a 6 year old Intel Core i5-3470 and a 5 year old GTX 660.
All of them with ease.
A side note on your CPU. Intel has changed it's specs now that CPUs throttle according to temperature.
You 2.2 is minimum base clock guarantee. It will run at that frequency no matter what. The turbo is 4.1GHz which is false, and only can do it on a single core process (which almost never happens.
The true Turbo mode is 3.9GHz at 6 core in full 100% usage.
Of course, this can only be achieved on the most high end system with optimal cooling solutions. An office system would overheat quick and throttle down quickly on heavy apps.
Remember, contrary to their name, laptops are not well suited for laps. They will pick up dust and lint easy and cause overheating, and lower computer performance.
^ Maybe you'll believe it from him, then.
True, for full multi-core performance you're limited to 3.9Ghz. Although given that CSL is mostly a single-core game, at least it benefits from a higher single core performance. It's a better option for CSL than something with 16 cores that runs at a max speed of 3.0Ghz. (would be great for most other games, but CSL is an odd beast.)
Heh, office systems. Yea, those would throttle down in minutes. Anything that's "Sleek", "thin" or "styled like a Macbook" is terrible at cooling by default.
The name 'laptop' always makes me laugh for that very reason, lol. Your lap is the
last place it should be put.
