Started as the petty kingdom of Sjaelland, from there subjugated the petty kingdom of Jylland, repelled two subjugation attempts by newly created kingdoms of Sweden and Norway, subjugated them and annexed counties of Finland, and from there I became Fylkir and Emperor of Scandinavia.. Over the years I expanded into Germany and lately Poland and the British Isles via Great Holy war.. I used to hold several small duchies in southern France but they were conquered by the Aztecs.. Now I'm looking to further my expansion into Germany..
Started as the Fatimid Caliphate and expanded everywhere.. This has been the static size of my Caliphate because I didn't want to expand too much.. Only wanted at first to create a Caliphate similar to the Umayyad, and of course decided to eliminate the Byzantines so I took Greece, Armenia and Anatolia..
Greater Alania at the end, before it's complete and utter annihilation. I only took de jure Alania and Sarkel by holy war. The pecheneg khanate was converted to catholicism and I got them through inheritance. 1.10, no ToG or mods.
Lithuania and Perm strong. Lithuania had constant civil wars but they stayed alive thanks to the god-awful attrition rates. Finland split between ex-pagans: west converted to catholics, east to orthodoxy.
Some funny stuff I encountered:
- Successful reconquista by spanish kingdoms, including fully basque Navarra. South spain owned by frankish catholic Andalusia. Remember, this was the 1066 start.
- two different characters with the Saw a Holy Comet trait. Amusingly, both were heretics.
- old (60-70) bastard king of Perm having two 20-something sisters as concubines
- the Knights Templar carving themselves a small realm in Tripoli
- the bastard daughter of the Ecumenical Patriarch
- England winning the crusade for Jerusalem -> the kingdoms of J and E splitting up -> KoJ somehow swearing fealty to the Byzantine Empire -> Byzantine invasion and complete take over of England.
- The last viking: pagan count of Ångermanland raiding and looting everything everywhere, not minding the fact that all his pagan neighbours were assimilated to the christian kingdoms

I give you the king of blobbing: Ummayad's / Cordoba. I guess when you focus and dont slack around you can create an Islamic EU before the clock hits 900. Crush Marakesh, and invade / holywar for piety points the catholic north.
Muslims have always been a bit OP in the players hands though, mostly cause the player is far better at handling decadence and avoiding succession crisis'.
I do wish they would expand the map a bit down around Mali though, at the moment there's no way to have aesthetically pleasing borders around there.

From my ongoing game which I started as the duchy of Tuscany (now king of Italy and Bavaria):

The issue is in the 1066 situation the moslim states have serious opposition by Constantinopel and the shiite/sunni division. Also before they can grow too huge the Ilkhanate will come over for tea and cookeys. All foos the Ummayad's do not have: some pathetic heretics in North Africa, and really weak ruins of the Caroligian state in the North.
And in 867, you have 200+ years to expand without facing any crusade.
Where the Huns failed, the Hungarians suceeded:
I'm going to grant independence to provinces in the Crimea/Ukraine for the sake of pretty borders, the absolute prime objective of any pagan horde-emperor.
P.S. the Magyars get wayyy too many troops to play around with. You have the original what, 11k? And if you form Hungary you get a lot - I got 20k.

The Hungarian invasions are OP a lot. I played an MP game with my friend and he almost with no hassle managed to build a very similar empire to yours.
Are you trying to say that my empire isn't boss and I'm not the coolest? Watch your back, buddy...

Well I could have conquered more by this date, but I was happy letting the west do it's thing...
Francia was mostly the AI's doing except I nudged them a few times(cash) and the Wendish Empire was a lot of my doing indirectly, as I converted the Polish-Russian(Lendians descendents i think) tribe who formed the kingdom of Poland to Zoroastrianism, and then they were inherited by the Spartenos dynasty, who were like little Dark Age Hapsburgs inheriting everything, anyways eventually i pushed my own dynasty claimant, I defeated all of the nomadic incursions on their first invasion war, the Golden Horde simply declared on the reformed Suomenuskos of the north after they lost to me. And since the Aztecs are broken now, I don't have the patience to wait for the Timurids so I think I'm finished with this game, satisfied with Zoroastrian domination.
Also Persia is crazy rich, and inbreeding isn't all that bad when you get enough good genes in there.

I'll post up my new Persian Empire its hard to keep stable with the Ultimogeniture is hard to keep them happy.
