Which guy? Dethroned Norwegian king? I wouldn't say that because after I conquered Norway for him, I imprisoned him, revoked his kingdom, duchy and all county titles and gave away to one of my kinsman, because all of my direct vassals should be of my dynasty. He's now rotting in dungeon. Not so lucky eh? :D

I'd expect a Swedish royalist to do no less to a Norwegian.

My Ironman Mercia game 1066 start, currently in 1391.

Ilkhanate became Orthodox, and the Paulician, so that is the orthodox.. Orthodox. Zikri is the orthodox Sunni.

First play through after a year's absence of the game, and goods I had fun!
Started out as count of albania? A miaphysite, georgian culture count, however deemed to inherit his fathers duchy of azerbaijan, north of the Caucasus in the Muslim state of armenia in the charlemagne start. Starting between a rock (ERE) and a hard place (Abassids) the muslim kingdom of armenia was doomed from the very beginning. my start character died 2 years in game, leaving his young son to a 10 year regency. Basically starting what im guessing 100 yeas of regency in the total game!!!!! How ever the tactics in the beginning was simple. Conquer and form Georgia and swear fealty the ERE. In the mean time i had claim wars to the duchy title, an angry uncle getting an adventure on my title and finally a holy war for my dear Azerbaijan duchy. ( Later i looked up about the muslims and ERE always craving that duchy here on the forum) And so I became queen of georgia. I managed to get a claim on the Byzantine empire title itself and slowly began to make the empire ever more unstable, only to conquer it with the son of then queen, a 5diplomat 29martial guy, sdfsdf after 100 years of the funniest ck2 gaming i have had, i was now the emperor of the byzantine empire. t. Also the first time handling viceroys and all the new mecanics in order to make it a hell to a emperor title player.
at this time around 870, i took the first look on the world. The abessids coverd everything from the steppes to marocco, 4 times the size of my ERE at the time the umyaads in andalusia had formed hispania and charlemagne newer formed his empire leaving europe for the border gore you see know. i made it my mission to eradicate the islamic faith from the map, by attacking the abbasids, i holy warred for the orthodox holy sites early, and hold them off on the 4 jihads they called on me. However with my regency curce i have been stuck on the lowest/secondlowest QA almost entire game, making it somewhat interesting to maintain control. I grew bored around 1000 when i conquered bagdad. The last 100 yeas i have ben holy warring the rest of persia trying to hit the indus river.

Untitled.jpg

This is my empire year 1102. Aragon is my son and heir, granted him independence, Sweden is the dominating power in the nordic region also being the only orthodox. Middle francs is in general the most powerfull state in central Europe together with Italy, Andalusia and Portugal is crusader states, with irish and german heritage, The Role playing aim was to get rid of islam, making it the only reason i did not med the schism as a catholic church is the only thing except for me, that could have united christian europe against the Muslims in Spain.

i have been trying to get out of the empire, in around 100 years now because it's an ironman and runs slow. i have been stuck in the last 2 yeas in game, because i keep inheriting a freaking bishopric somewhere i keep getting game over, and now my patience is out. tried to keep my self going at least until the mongols, but alas. the story of the georgian kings who restored East Roman Empire to its former glory shall live forever...

Alas it gets worse! This is the world in 1442, getting ready to finish up. Current King Æthelræd VIII, 'the Lame' was King of Aquitaine from his birth yet managed to lose it the minute he became 16. He's now in his 40s and has reclaimed much of his rightful kingdom. The last few years are going to be used to fix borders.

Certainly not the best since I was going for a dynastic domination type thing instead of conquering all of the land. At around 1000 I had Alaholfingers on the thrones of: France, Aquitaine, Alsace, Bavaria, Germany and a short lived Hwicce (custom kingdom which owned the south of England.) Turned Fraticcelli at around 1075 and by 1150 it replaced Catholic for the biggest Christian religion. Others things to note is that Germans live in France while the French now reside in Bavaria/Southern Germany.

Forgot to take a Dynasty screenshot, but here are all of the Alaholfinger Kingdoms in 1000. I ate all of them except for Bavaria after changing to Fraticelli. ;) (They were the only other Fraticelli Kingdom):

NLHZ09P.png

And this surprising kingdom of Edessa, which survived roughly 200 years next to the Caliphate, while being inside Byzantine De Jure land:

Short-lived Cathar Umayyads :cool::

HYs6rgJ.png

My empire isn't big considering how much time I had, but starting as a count surrounded by catholics is one of the slowest starts, and like I said I wasn't trying to become big, but because all of my Alaholfinger kingdoms kept dying out, I had to annex Alaholfinger Scotland, Aquitaine, Asturias, Hungary and, to make my borders look better, France and a part of Germany. To ensure their "safety" of course ;)

A dynasty's CoA depends on the founder's religion at death. The founder of the Umayyads would be some ancestor of Mohammed who is consider (bland) pagan in the game files, which is why they got the pagan CoA.

That's not true. I've changed religion mid-game multiple times, and (after enough dynasty members convert), the Coat of Arms changes appropriately.

Didn't they add the unique Umayyad CoA with the arabic in Charlemagne though? Or maybe one of the mini DLCs along with it, can't remember.

Yep, I think it's one of the Unique CoA DLCs. I don't have any of them and have that black-grey thunder CoA for the Umayyads as well.

That's not true. I've changed religion mid-game multiple times, and (after enough dynasty members convert), the Coat of Arms changes appropriately.

I don't know. The CoA graphics never change for me- Bagrationi continue to have the Zoroastrian graphic, Umayyads the Pagan graphic. Maybe it's got something to do with wether one has the Unique CoA DLCs active.

My Ironman game starting as Eadwin of Mercia has ended with this wonderful empire, though I remained a King. My final ruler was Æthelræd IX of Hwicee, King of England, Jerusalem and Romania. (The later two titles were Crusade titles, but I gave all the land to the Pope, and in return no one ever usurped them. Kept them as 'prestige' titles. The other Kingdoms I could form were de jure England and all titular by the end of the game.)

tmbBVCE.png

Notable events include the Ilkhanate converting to Orthodoxy, then to Paulician, and due to the Byzantines exploding Paulician became the dominant sect. The Teutonic order won the Crusade for Anatolia, and the Papacy runs Jerusalem and Greece.

Its EUIV conversion for those interested.
