Occupying every single province is harder than you think. :I

My ruler is 71 compared to HRE's 61 year old ruler. 13 years of constant war. q-q

1st Invasion failed because previous doge died 6 months in.

Edit: I'm still waiting for the game to give me all those baronies and counties, might crash...

My personal favorite:

My favorite?

In one game (Cumanian start at 867 AD), I successfully:
  • Introduced the names "Dooley", "Sue", "Yolo", "Pawley", "Echo", "Bob", "Bubba", "Louise", and "Swag" into the ancient Cuman language as legitimate names that peasants would name their kids after for centuries.
  • Turned Cumania's Khan from Tengri to Jewish, and made the Kingdom follow.
  • Saved Khazaria from defeat by allying and marrying into them as a Cuman.
  • Defeated the Morvdins and the Homgoldr Duchy's ancient Rurikids.
  • Wiped the purely Norse culture off of proto-Russia centuries early.
  • United and formed the Rus Kingdom centuries early as a Tatar.
  • Converted the Rurikids and Dulos into Jews.
  • Reduced the mighty Rurikdis and Dulos into vassal counts and dukes of the Cuman Khan.
  • Gave the Dulo family a Republic in Livonia.
  • Installed an Estonian king on the Rus throne, descended from the same dynasty as the Cuman Khans. Reinstalled a Cuman on his death.
  • Moved the capital of the Rus to Narva, Estonia.
  • Subjugated and absorped Ruthenia.
  • Annexed Perm diplomatically.
  • Married my Khan to a banished black chick, causing one of the Cuman Khans of Rus to be ethnically African, culturally Cuman, and ethnically Jewish.

IT WAS THE BEST GAME EVER, and it's technically not done. I still have to form the Russian Empire many centuries early!

I'll see if I can get pictures when I load up my laptop later on.

So, I made a custom Nestorian character in Ghana and built up a pretty large kingdom and thought I could just let it go and see what happened next. I hit observe in the early 1000s, so imagine my surprise at what the world looked like after I woke up this morning. The Shia Caliphate lost all Aragon to a Crusade the last I checked, but somehow it became a mega-state. Golden Horde became Catholic after conquering the Romans, and after all abandoned Tengri the Byzantines still cling to the old faith.

Can you post an independent states screenshot (not map- screenshot)? It's one of the most confusing and interesting world I've seen.

That Shia spread is awesome.

Started a game in 1066, ended in 1411. I could have played longer but I got bored of wars.

Sorry about the graphics, I didn't have much to do today.

Which kingdom did you play ? (And how could Rum have been formed ?)
Yes, I played as Nordland, I started as the Crovans of The Isles. I intended to just expand slowly and naturally, but then I inherited Norway which was good since I was losing a lot of land to the Scots at the time. I renamed my state to Nordland to reflect it's position... Not sure if I'm happy with the name or not.

There was an event which formed the Rum state when the Seljuks conquered the area. I was playing in HIP, so perhaps it's unique to that mod.

Neat graphics :) and neat empire. Not often people post non-Norse Scandinavian empires these days. Good job.

Did you not create the Empire of Scandinavia?

Thank you very much! :) I don't really like playing as the Norse and I much prefer the later start dates any way.

I did, right at the end- that's what "Nordland" is. I figured 'Scandinavia' didn't make much sense in an age well before any sort of Scandinavian identity, so the Empire is supposed to be a romantic allusion to the Norse of the viking age.

Aaaah, cool.

I must say, the rest of the world is rather pleasing in terms of plausibility. I must play some more 11th c. games.

And I also dislike playing as the Norse, gets kinda dull when it's a case of conquer/sacrifice, conquer/sacrifice all the time.

This is my empire I started as the Duke of Austria and eventually got myself elected Holy Roman Empire. Since then I've made the King of Denmark, Kingdom of France, Kingdom of Poland and Kingdom of Aquitaine my vassals. Of which the Kingdom of Denmark and Kingdom of Aquitaine are both relatives of mine. I also have a son (who is not my heir) who is the King of Rus since my wife died leaving me to marry the Queen of Sweden who has no children and any "we" have will be of my dynasty and hopefully be good enough to become my heir for the Holy Roman Empire thus expanding my empire even farther...
Destroy France. It is clearly de jure HRE.

Finished first muslim game. Started in 867 as Emir of Berbera, took over Ethiopia(Abyssinia), then blobbed from there. Once I achieved Empire status I got bored, so I switched from sunni to ibadi and eventually ousted the Arabian empire from the middle east. I was actually about to exterminate the sunni heretics(Ibadi is orthodox Islam now) when they successfully invaded Cumania, taking it from a Catholic Tartaria(which was founded by a Suomenusko Pecheneg of all things. I had nothing to do with that.) Basil himself turned to Iconoclasm and converted the ERE, wiping out orthodoxy. Then a Catholic inherited, converted most of the empire and died, leaving the throne to an Iconoclast Emperor, who then reconverted the empire. Then, that sequence happened again.

I saw a slavic Ruthenia blobbing into pretty much all of their holy sites, so I switched to the slavic ruler of Moldau and swore fealty so they could reform. They ended up ruling Rus, Ruthenia, Lithuania, and Finland, although never under the same ruler. The kingdom titles flip flopped between two dynasties the whole time, the Dregovichs and the Dobrynichs. I sent a gold donation to the Pratihara when they got large enough to form Rajastan, after which they slowly took over all of the Bengal Empire(Deccan Empire formed on its own). With no interference from me, Mauritania turned Jewish, and conquered Mali and southern Andalusia. That is, until a random ibadi adventurer invaded and toppled their rule.

The hordes were pretty boring this game. Aztecs wasted their invasions on tiny bits of land in Spain, and turned Portuguese and catholic. The Mongols ended up fighting each other after just 10 years, wiping out their doomstacks. Turkistan is Mazdaki, which is the new Manichean orthodox, which was the new Zoroastrian orthodox. And yes, Hungary, now Carpathia can into France(succession, but not before Breton culture into France, almost wiping out Frankish). Speaking of Hungary, a (catholic)Makedon ended up forming Hungary, not the Magyars, which lost to Bulgaria. They remained on the throne of Hungary long after they lost the ERE. Somehow the Papacy got land in Lotharingia. Four years before the game ended I jihaded for Italy, gave it to a Samaritan, and gave him independence, because why not. Surprisingly no one attacked him.
