Looks good! The spread into Northern Africa is an interesting route to take. I'm thinking of spreading into Egypt myself as Persia later on, but so far the focus has been Anatolia and parts of the Holy Land.
I conquered all of de jure Jerusalem and gave it to a Jewish courtier. And naturally, I want them to survive, so I can vassalise them in EU4.

I also formed the empire of Abyssinia and gave it to a Monophyiste Ethopian - the heresy became the main branch, but a few decade later the Northern half completely collapsed. A Sunni Uprising conquered most of Abyssinia and this idiot in Egypt conquered Nubia. I'll celebrate when my CA is on the highest level, so these guys stop messing up my plans.
Next thing I conquer will probably be Cyprus - and that only because I don't want any Great Holy Wars for Greece. -.-

Small update:
I'm currently expanding into Iberia because this pesky Caliph repeatedly called Jihads - for Persia! There are Alans in Gibraltar and he tries to claim the heartland of my empire. The Shia Caliph isn't any better. He controls only one province between Mauretania and Mali, but still tries to reclaim his old provinces - or he declares Jihads for Jerusalem and gets whacked by the Jews.
A few decades ago, some of the Roman Emperors converted to Catholicism - and now Orthodoxy is nearly extinct.
did Ascalon successfully rebel against Israel? or was this just taken during a rebellion?
It's just a rebellion for Lower CA - it was crushed after a short time because a) the King had lot of soldiers and b) I invest money in Israel to keep them afloat.

Here's a rather sluggishly growing Wendish Empire, start at old gods as Duke of Pomerania.
The game is not Ironman, so I hold no pride for this. It's just a prep for my later EU4 game with the export. Ilkhanate stopped after their initial conquest of Khiva (wasn't mine at the time), Golden Horde stopped when they came around. Conquest order was Pomerania - Poland - Bohemia - Lithuania - Scandinavia - Germany - Brittania - Bavaria - Tartaria - Persia/Hispania - Russia (Ruthenia inherited at some point, bits of Hungary ), now I'm slowly biting into France with holy wars, trying to shatter the empire of Francia.
This game, West Francia inherited first Italy, then Byzantine Empire, all the holy orders are also led by Karlings, every war in the west now is facing all of them (which slowly ceases to be a problem as I make gains on them). Mauretania is mine due to some weird vassal thing as the current Sultan was also baron somewhere in Cadiz when I conquered it. Weird stuff.
Should I go for West Francia and usurp the empire title, you think?
(oh and also - since this screenshot I've taken all of Aragon except Menorca due to truces, as well as Slavonia, Valois and Baghdad)
