quite honestly my largest Empire after a mostly unified rome. I'll give you a hint... i'm in the east. This was a standard Ironman Khazaria run that started before the vassal levy nerf. In this game i have unified Tartaria, survived a joint onslaught from a powerhouse Sunni Shiite block, Conquered most of persia.. All just so i'd have enough power to hold onto the sliver of land that is jerusalem.
Shia Caliph is a one holding super minor in Mecca, Sunni Caliph is ruling out of Marrakesh and two zoroastrian independents still hold lands in Gilian.. all be it as independent baronies.
It's been a long hard road, i've had gains in persia and jerusalem that would last only long enough For either Saffarid or Abbasid to snatch them away. When the final conquest of Persia was complete i started having to face jihads. It was frustrating but well worth it for despite having lost Jerusalem 3 times i was finally able to snatch an almost complete kingdom from the Emir of Oultrajordania. In this time between 867 and 1087 the game has gone through 4 Imperial Caliphates Abbasid => Ali => Alimid => Hamanid. What has been the crowning achievement of this epic imperial build... Well the Formation of Israel and the Kohen Gabdol was nice but quite honestly it was the Jewish Mordivin kingdom of Rus who after so many attempts finally saw the light and gave me family with which to marry into.
For a time in this playthrough there was even a strong Karen presence in persia. I'm sad to have seen them go but they more then filled their purpose of being gobbled up by seljuk who's now a landless king on the second generation in exile.
