This isn't much of an Empire, but the Truth Faith (And Dynasty) of Armenia reigns supreme. I may do a royal marriage between my aunt's son's daughter (as I killed his son), and my son in order to unite the Georgian and Armenian Branches.

Basically, I started as Rurik, formed Garthariki and then conquered Sardinia and Naples so that I could do a Vladimir the Great, i.e. get a nice mix of visiting missionaries from lots of religions. I ruled out Catholicism, and by ruled out I mean sacrificed two cardinals and ransomed eight imprisoned bishops, and tossed a coin to decide between Orthodoxy and Sunni Islam. (I fully intend to play this campaign through as an Orthodox at some point as well.)

From there it was just an easy process of roflstomping my neighbours, really; I've removed the Pagan Attrition penalty by getting Level 4 Military Organisation, so it's really quite easy at this point.

Nice I just have couple of questions:
What happened to Egypt?
Was the original Tulunid branch replaced by some other, or did some othe (Abbasid?) dynasty take over it? It's weird to see Tulunids in Tripolitania and Egypt called Egypt/Misr.

Also what happened to (Great) Moravia and Bohemia?
Do you use the latest version? and what titles do the Rustamids control? Did they manage to create kingdom of Maghreb, or not?

And last question: what combiunation of mods do you use? (I know it's HIP, but actually which mods of the HIP joint-project are the ones you use)

You could always trying playing as a christian character, and trying to find a Jewish character to turn your heir Jewish? Seems like it'd be easier than playing as the Khazars and doing it, at least.

1) As Khazaria, hire a bunch of mercs and attack for Itil, the large Cuman duchy. When everyone joins in, crush their armies.

2) Blitz the rest of the steppes until you reign supreme.

3) Attack Georgia, then Armenia, then any vulnerable Muslim rulers. Beware Byzantines (keep some small states in between you and them)

4) Expand into Middle East if possible, or if the Empire is strong by then expand into Russia and wait for succession crisis with Abbassids/ generic decadence dynsaty.

as long as you play with SWMH map (which you do), your game can't be converted to EUIV - the SWMH-> EUIV converter is not done yet.

Start as Almos of the Magyars, white peace out of the fight with Bulgaria, then immediately declare an invasion of Jerusalem on the Abassid caliphate. Get a Jewish concubine from Khazaria, settle down, and convert when you're comfortable with losing your invasion cb. Taking Damascus and Sinai are good priorities before becoming Israel. Stick your Court Rabbi on the county of Jerusalem constantly, grind piety and prestige, and maximise your troop count at all times. Form Israel by decision once Jerusalem converts and watch the Magyar title disappear. Around the same time, aim to educate your heir to become Sephardi or Ashkenazi if you want to roleplay more effectively. Jihads and Crusades will activate, so be very careful to break up your enemies (particularly staunch allies of the Pope and the Caliphs) and possibly release or support other independent Jewish states. You have holy sites in Oman and Hamadan, so perhaps push towards them and land lords of your religion but not your culture, release them and intermarry to get strong allies quickly. If you have the customiser (which works with Ironman mode), you could change your dynasty name into something Aramaic or Hebrew, or embrace your Magyar roots. It's all much more effective than Khazaria as you can jump into Israel quickly and you can more radially change your vassal's make up because you'll quickly triple your realm in size when you take Israel in around 870.

Small i know, but it took me time to survive the Hungarians because they revoked the duchy i started with and every single county. Constantinople became independent and i took it, triggering the crusades: a big crusade against hungary started. Hungary was having problems with a 5000k rebel stack already, but the holy orders bringing their stuff really roflstomped them, and i declared indepedence - i already owned all of Wallachia. From there, i declared an invasion on hungary after they became catholic, and then bulgaria. Now, who knows what i will do.

You should form Hungary and make it primary title. Forming Hungary as an Avar character changes its name to Avar.

Hungary formed, and i lost a county and the duke title in the process. The King also decided to revoke my holdings in the duchy of pest but i had taken Birlad in the duchy of moldau via Subjugation CB. From there i conquered the duchy of Moldau, and took the duchy of Transylvania by force. Wallachia followed, and then the hungarians had a lot of bad events, and their army was close to nothing (they only had about 1500 men) by the time i revolted.

My Ironman Mode Latin empire game. Im 40 years in now and finaly got my realm to be strong and stable. It is a hard struggle to survive between the powers of venice, byzantine, seljuk and rum forces. Because the Latin Empire has no de jure vassals, everybody is joining factions. I have never had so many faction wars. Both the ilkahnite and the golden horde invaded me, the ilkahnite was succesful and took parts of Greece, Crimea and Bulgaria. Luckely the two mongol hordes wasted their starter-doomstacks on eachother and now my only worry is their freakish size. I vassalized two holy orders both of which are on islands(jeej). Im currently working on incorporating my third, and when jerusalem gets destroyed I'll try to vassalize the last two.

I can advice anyone to do a Ironman Latin empire game, best game i've had since the old gods came out.
