Not my empire per se, but I do feel responsible...

This is the first success in a string of attempts to drive the christians out of Iberia in the 1066 start. I started as the Zirid emir of Granada, and quickly swore fealty to the Zirid Sultanate for protection. I slowly expanded by taking counties from the neighbouring emirs, and defended myself tooth and nail from two holy wars and a claim war from the Hammadid emir. One turning point was me winning a holy war for Barcelona. By then, however, the Abbadid and Aftasid emirs had taken most of the other land in the peninsula, becoming almost unstoppable. Aftasid subsequently lost most of their land to holy wars, which was later taken by Abbadid, resulting in the sultanate of Andalusia. I demanded independance (which I was granted) and swore fealty to the Abbadid sultanate. Then I mopped up the weak christian opposition while my liege dealt with the other muslim realms, also usupring the sultanate of mauretania. I waited for my liege to become emperor, and he did.

The badshah soon destroyed the kingdom of andalusia, and I was one county short of creating it, until I got an unexpected vassal transfer. After creating the title, I received another two emirates. Being an ambitious vassal is awesome!

This is the direct vassal view of the above screenshot.

This is my vanilla pagan Lithuania game. (AAR link in the signature) The starting date was 1236 - the defeat of Livonian order in the Battle of Saule (Schaulen). Lonely pagan Lithuania surrounded by powerful Christian neighbors with the Holy Roman Empire wanting the destruction of the last pagan country. The end was 1453 - so 227 years of game play.

Ck2 is so easy that posting empires for this game is a joke.

But its fun. I have a pic of all the karling lands united except for italy under the empire of francia in 890 or so. I did it as one character, the spymaster to the empire. Any claimant that threatened my liege, excess children that hurt the kingdoms' inheritance, or kings with other kings as heirs... A very fun little play through. Next, I'm going to try to unite the karling and byzantine empires through assassinations.

Give it a few decades. My vassals are happily gobbling up what's left of Germany, Garðariki is being consumed by Sweden, and France and Asturias are sharing beds already.

Poland is destined to always be a cocking great mess though. Can't help with that.

no way! those borders are great when labeled that way, are those king vassals?

Indeed. Partly to give the message alerts a rest from all the tedious goings-on of the dukes, partly so that I'd have fewer people to keep happy, and partly so it will be easier to release them when the time comes to break up the empire. I quickly found that you have to keep kings a lot happier than dukes, but also that being a king vassal within an empire is actually a pretty good thing. They can declare war on whoever they want, but no-one can declare war on them without attacking the whole empire at once.

I don't know what the music is but I agree with you, it is monumentally epic. I'm going to try and remake it using CK2 map screenshots from an 867-1492 playthrough (maybe even export to EUIV and continue through to 1821).
