This first picture, is looking out over the entire city; Only the New Harbour and Purple Harbour are out of the view.
The old colonial seat of power, Port Hamilton, looking from the tropical shores of Concord Beach, named after the islands first Governor, Percival Concord. Though not much remains of the once impressive colonial architecture, it remains the administrative centre of the island. We can see Hamilton Bluff, the site of the industrial estate, with Ore and Oil processing plants, as well as the New Harbour Bridge, which leads to... well the New Harbour.
From Concord Beach again, we look down the coast to Expo Bluff, and Cocobano Beach. Cocobano Beach is the home of the rich and famous, and >the< place to be seen by anyone.
From Mount Disappointment (so called, because the view isn't as good as that from Mount Spectacular) we look over Hamilton and Merrywarh Heights. In the distance we can see the New Harbour
The view from Mount Spectacular... it's quite spectacular, is it not? Here we look over Cocobano Beach, and in the distance, we can see Nightsong Bay and the "Song" district. We can also see the planning of the yet to be zoned Spectacular Plateau sub division
Nightsong Bay; despite its long, sandy beach, the sheltered nature of the bay means that it is suitable for young families to swim. The Bay, as it is affectionatly know as by locals, also hosts the cultural centre, which makes it a go to spot for the tourists, as well as the site for the island's primary university, the University of Salvano. Nightsong district is by far, the most heavily populated district on the island.
From our boat on Nightsong Bay, we look towards Memory Bluff; noone really remembers how it got this name; and Marigold; so called because the farm that once stood there, was owned by a Miss Marigold. Marigold is also the site of the international airport, and the island's second university. In the distance, we can spy Purple Point...
Purple Harbour, the newest estate on the island... Truthflly I am not really happy with the way this suburb turned out; the highway needs to disappear, might move it underground. We also see the Purple Point industrial estate. Anyone see why it is called that?
