This is my first city: I'm pretty happy with given that I started it knowing more or less nothing. No major traffic problems, and looks decent enough as well. I'm going to start another city now though, as I've kind of built myself into a corner.

The Island map is good fun, especially for Hydro Power.

Original Area

This is where the city began. I knew I wanted to build onto the hill, but I couldn't afford to start on the far side of the river.

The Hill

Probably my favourite part of the city: I kept the wind turbines around mainly because the look cool.

Downtown

This is the downtown region, although commercial demand was next to nothing all game. It's mainly offices.

Newer industrial Area
IBViHRX.jpg

This was my attempt to keep heavy traffic away from the main town. It worked fairly well, although I didn't set up the cargo loop very well.

The Dam

I'm definitely going to play this map again when tunnels arrive: the elevation changes and 1600MW dam river are just too cool.

Welcome to the port city of New Eden, the model of efficiency.

Aesthetics and environmental concerns have no place here. TO TRADE AND INDUSTRY!

*resemblance in shape to San Francisco is but an unfortunate coincidence

Still a work in progress, but getting there. Also my first cities are always grids, time for creativity later.

I have started to move the bigger leisure items to their own area, hopefully once I get the airport this can be the main tourist spot.

The traffic seems to split across the 3 lanes well.

My first city, Princedale:

Everything was fine. Traffic was heavy but no long back-ups. Industry was booming. Everyone was happy and had solar panels on their houses.
Then I realized something, everything was fast-paced and beautiful. Too fast and beautiful for my liking actually.

So I made my mind to start anew (and created a map that will suit my style).
This is Spring Falls where everything is more laid-back, and I LOVE IT!

So, my first "not failed" City.
Used the "unlimited Money" mod, since i want to Play at Speed 1 and not wait on Money.
Also i used a temporary cheat to fix the "no Commercial demand due to parks" with max demand on everything to get commerical built. And some additional assets.

Population approx. 150.000.

So, this is me in my City:

Ah, you wanna know where this is?

Who would not shop on that Boulvard, just a view hundert meters from the beach?

Continue:
Of cause, not everything is so nice. Let's go for example to Anchor. An old, planned City just south of Briar Island.

There is also a lots of industry, and the heavy use of cars had the initital simple Highway-offramp turned into a mess everybody will hate driving.Problem here is that the Habor is located on the other side of the Highway (why? because i can). The Little Off-Ramp on the lower left is needed, otherwise the traffic will only use the outer lane leading to total gridlock.

Against all Odds, traffic is still flowing.

Way more in the North you can also see the Airport City. Some Commerical, the main subway hub as well as a Train station are located there.

All with their very own Highway Connection, close to the Central "Roundabout" (at least some time it was one) to reach everything in the City very fast.

Despite it's Name, Hollie's Hell is one of the nicest Suburbs out there.

From Lindor Park, which is mostly an Office area, you can see the old City Center. The City Center is a nice place to live, if you like to feel like a Sardine in a can.

On clear days, if you're eyes are good enough, you can see the spot where every good familiy dad wants his children to grow up. Anchor Bay is offering all Services, while still in a quiet and cozy neighbourhood. Mom can go Shopping by foot, while dad is using the SUV or the Metro-Line to get to work very quick. Ok, the SUV only if he's crazy enough to over the Anchor Plains street mess. For the Weekend there is not only a Stadium, but also the nice beaches.

Finally, an total overview.

Your Feedback is welcome.

The great flood of 2020. approx 30 homes destroyed in Thamesbridge. This is the effect of having low lying land with global warming.

fYrEDvm.jpg

The flood then began to affect the city centre until it rose completely above east and west bridges and spilled over onto the poor low wealth area of Hardcastle... Much of the newly built CBD destroyed too.
