Let's just assume that the Central Powers lose WW1 rather quickly.

Will there be post-war events? Is it worth playing?
The dream scenario would be the forming of Nazi Germany and so on and maybe an eventual ahistorical WW 2 for example, but maybe I'm asking too much now.

The main question is, are there enough events and scripted action for AI countries for post war, inter war era to make playing worthwile?

Thanks

I think only the Russian Civil War has some post-WWI events. The WWI scenario ends in 1920.

Ok. That's sad to hear because so far all my 3 games have been very short and easy.. Makes almost no sense to even research anything when the war is already over by the time I get any upgrades :(

1914-1963 grand startegy game.. Pretty misleading
1914-1920 and 1936-50 grand strategy scenarios. The truth.

Agreed. I bought DH so I could start in 1914 and end in 1963 -- doesn't seem to be possible. Not that big a deal because it's only 10 bucks and I'll still get 10 bucks worth of play out of it, but it would have been nice to know upfront that there's no true "Grand Campaign."

Yes. I definitely feel having been mislead. 6 years of WW1 is so short that from what I've seen I can almost guarantee that if you play optimally you dont wanna do hardly any research.

Like what good is to research infantry 1916 when you hardly get to even upgrade any troops before the war is over.

And why would that be any different from what was promised? Both scenarios were promised, and both have been delivered. Plus, more patches are in the works, so not only the number of bugs should go down, but also number of added features will go up :). And, in the long term, it has been mentioned few times that 1 single scenario from 1914-1963 is still a distant possibility (though you'll anyways have such scenario already probably in the nearest future in the RDD mod). So, there has been no misleading, only abit of lack of information on your part.

What's the RDD mod?

Ps. I apologize for not reading every single thread on this site to perfectly understand what has been promised.

To me 1914-1963 means I should be able to play so. Not to play a frigging one hour of arcade ww1 sim that is over before my first land doctrine has been finished-

I can actually understand the devs on this one. I figured there was no way they would bother making a time line with 20 years peace time. And I can imagine both the trouble for the devs and the in game history development itself. SO many things happened between the wars that you would need more events than anyone here has patients to make. I would say it is nearly impossible to actually start in 1914 and make it to 1936 with the same history background through management of events and choices.

Then again some of you might want a totally alternate history and that I can understand that but also I can understand the Devs for not caring to fill up those 20 years. Play the extended scenario to 1942, if you can without events...

I also really would like to play long 1914-1963 scenario, especially since the fast DH speed actually makes such timeframe doable in few evenings time! However, AC is totally right - it does take time (for example, it has taken me days to find few obscure Danish ministers for WW1 era). It'll get easier and choice of what to play will expand drastically when more mods will publish their converted mods, plus, RDD has promised even much longer timeframe (I'm not sure HOW they'll accomplish it..must have support of dozens of history students or smth.. maybe the leader of RDD mod is some dean in some faculty of history and is using "cheap labor" :p)

Exactly. Plus, it would get boring very quickly - do you actually want to see linear and deterministic development of history for 20-30+ years? Because to make well thought out event paths for all major development alternatives for 1914-1963 timeframe is rather difficult to imagine. And take into consideration, that except in some rare cases, if you're major power, then 20 and even less years is quite enough to conquer the world in HOI games.

I agree the 1914 scenario is over so fast you can basically just use your starting trops and maybe at the most reserach some land doctrine techs and thats it. It really does feel like a static battle scenario and not a campaign.

I also think playing them game from 1914 all through the interwar years to 1936 would be too boring and too hard to do right. What WOULD be good to see, is some sort of "explort file" like eu2 had for vicky (and crusader kings for eu2?). So what you end with in ww1, you start back up with in 1936, modified some for time of course.

Would just take some events to kind of get things "on track" come 1936.
