Post-war alliances still a problem. AI better!

I've just played through my first game with DoD as the Czechs, went for the fortification route and it somehow worked.
Germany ended up fighting on all fronts, although I have to say that the AI did a much, much better job of defending itself. No random gaps in the line anymore. So, in general, the AI is much-improved as far as I can see.

However, after the war finished (very early, in 1940). Germany was made Democratic by the Allies, but not invited into the faction. So what immediately happened was the new German Republic then used it's previously unused CB's on Benelux, which started a new war with the Allies and the German Republic was invited into the Axis, which had been continued by Japan who had never entered the initial war, presumably seeing how poorly it was going.

Long story short - it all got a bit ideologically confusing after the first war. Maybe something needs to be done to stop Democracies using CB's simply because they have them?

I have to say though, that the other improvements have definitely made a difference!

I take that back a little, the German AI is STILL maniacally declaring on all around it before it's barely begun to deal with Poland, or the British landings in the north (which are waaay too ambitious for the time), as well as making constant suicidal attacks on the Maginot. And... game over for Germany in early 1940, this time without any input from me whatsoever.

So it seems that the military management AI has improved, but the AI controlling the nation's diplomacy and broader strokes is still just messed up.

I have the same thoughts exatcly, my post from another thread on AI:

All being said (I have expressed my frustration and general disappointment with DoD in several threads) AI is better. Well, not as an opponent, it still sucks at every occasion.

But at least when you use any orders you don't have the feeling that AI wants to ruin your plans, supplies and equipment just for lolz by relocating your divisions 7 provinces through the mountains/desert just to move them back to original spot, because frontline moved and when the division got to destination it was not on the frontline anymore. Good old times when you had 10 times more attrition losses on the theater with orders drawn vs theater where you micromanage yourself. Now it's only 3 to 5 times more!

Generally, as I play MP whenever I can, I do not care so much for the SP Germany throwing itself on 4 fronts and Maginot Line at the same time, but srsly, they could do something about it.
