So what did we cut from Crusader Kings II? Basically, this:

A medieval style chronicle with annual entries
Trade post holdings built by the republics (Venice, Genoa, etc)
Hiring ships from the great republicsdone
Relics that can be found, looted, and used to build cathedrals
Loads of very rare narrative events (like "The Gates of Hell") with multi-generational effects
A viceroy/drots/great seneschal council position for each kingdom held
Cadet branches of dynasties
Adventures - younger sons raising an army and going off to conquer something on their own
Onion peeler
Self-aware AI

Only one of those things have eventually made it into the game, but they are all interesting concepts that could be added to the game.
What would you say to a DLC that included those features?

They're all things to add in free patches, like they did with causes of death and naval mercenaries.

I wouldn't pay for any of them individually, though (for example) trade posts would be a logical part of any republics-based DLC pack.

Only one of those things have eventually made it into the game, but they are all interesting concepts that could be added to the game.
What would you say to a DLC that included those features?

Given that the list looks very tongue-in-cheek, not much. The giveaways are in the last two items. An onion peeler, and self-aware AI: the mundane, and the Holy Grail of AI fanatics. I think they should add a feather of the phoenix bird, and a hair from the eyebrow of Koshchei the Deathless.

I know, I've read the Post Mortem diary a few times and quoted it in my own posts before, but I'm just saying that the things listed in the first post are not appropriate as DLC.

The self-aware AI is rather scary. I don't think it would be a good idea... What if it experiences goal drift? Or starts to contemplate the way the universe works and comes up with a theory that makes you doubt the value of your existence so that you will become depressed and commit suicide? What if this is combined and the AI decides it is his goal to make you commit suicide?

Based on PDS's past DLC/patch policies, here's my guess:

Trade posts - Should come with a republic DLC
Hiring ships - Already done
Relics - Should come with a Catholic DLC (aka Theocracy DLC)
Narrative events - Should be given in a free patch
Viceroy/Drots/Great Seneschal - Should be given in a free patch
Cadet Branches - Should be a separate DLC
Adventures for younger sons - Should be given in a free patch

Cadet branches would best fit in a free patch. 1) because it seems easiest for paradox to implement that way and 2) because it sounds hard to market such a DLC. Note though that I would buy such a DLC myself.

Viceoys would have fit well in SoI. A pity that they did not have the time to include it there.

Hiring ships from the great republics----Already in
Relics that can be found, looted, and used to build cathedrals----Parch or catholic DLC, the system can also be used for the GoT mod(valyrian swords anyone?
Loads of very rare narrative events (like "The Gates of Hell") with multi-generational effects----Patch
A viceroy/drots/great seneschal council position for each kingdom held----again, patch. maybe as a minor feature for other DLC, like retinues-LoR
Cadet branches of dynasties----I personally don't need it, however could be a seperate DLC
Adventures - younger sons raising an army and going off to conquer something on their own----Patch, possibly with the above DLC(cadet branches)
Onion peeler----MAKE A NEW GAEM OMFG!!1!!1!111!!!!!!1!1!!!!
Self-aware AI----It isn't going to happen, no matter how hard we want it.

I hate how ppl always suggest new content should be in the form of DLC's. I'd rather if free patches instead...
So do i, but Paradox has to make money in some way you know.
