Does the AI ever do anything interesting after the end of WW2? Does the Soviet AI ever declare war on the West or vice versa?

I'm playing as Greece with the Allies and the Axis are finished. Is there any point in continuing?

The soviet union does have a focus that gives them war goals against Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan. What I seen happen is the allies will guarantee those countries and the soviets will declare war causing ww3.

What happens on the games I've finished as the UK and other countries, sometime immediately after WWII finishes around '43-44 the Soviet bloc, strengthened by puppeting China in a the combined peace deal, declares war on the Allies. I presume you know how factions grow during war, especially with German focuses as everyone is drawn in and joins the Allies, so what tends to happen is my Allies smashes the USSR in a war around '45-46.

If you're playing as Greece, and so unlikely to be in the firing line, it's up to you. I like indulging in the Air game as my friends can handle the land by this point but it's up to you and how involved you are.

The most annoying thing that happens is the USA suddenly completing a focus to attack Germany, which has been puppeted and joined the Allies after WWII. Then things get really interesting if you accept a disarmed Germany's call to arms against the whole Allies faction.

I puppeted Denmark as Soviet Union. UK then declared war on Denmark.

Very interesting. Germany has been wholly occupied by the Soviets, so I imagine they will either create a communist puppet or it splits into West and East Germany, which I have seen happen once before.

If you puppet Germany as SU, USA will suddenly decide that it is great time to start fighting with fascists, and so - will attack Germany. And you, as it's master.

I find that there's usually a ww3 between Comintern and the Allies afterwards, but whether it can be called interesting... By that point most techs are done and the number of democracies in Allies mean that I have never seen them struggle agaisnt the Comintern at all. Sure, it takes them a looong time to invade and defeat the Soviets, but they are never in danger of losing to them. For all of SOV's manpower and production, it wont match the combined metrics of the Allies in any way. I could see that being maybe interesting if you were on SOV side, though depending on your rig, it might be a slow slog of a war due to the mass of divisions, though certainly if you were able to lead the Comintern to victory it might feel worthwhile. If you're part of the Allies I'd consider it uninteresting as in all likelihood I could just sit back and watch as Comitnern is torn apart without lifting a finger personally.

But that's just my experiences though, very limited sample size

Agree, i've never seen the Soviet AI defeating the Allies.

There's three things that could happen:

1. The Allies go to war with the Comintern
2. The early days of the Cold War begins, everyone takes a side, builds up their armies and glares daggers at any opposing ideologies.
3. A few wars in the Middle East and maybe South Africa.

The Soviets have a focus with which they claim Istanbul. If they declare war and conquer Turkey they will follow up with an ultimatum to Greece. Of course you can always just declare war yourself and start WW3 manually.

Yep, but as every neutral, Turkey will be guaranteed by Allies anyway - because that's not fascists, who justify war, but muh, evil commies...

In my post-WW2 USSR run the Allies began to justify against neutral, non-aligned Iran. The nerve of them! I guaranteed the Persians and thus WW3 began. It was an epic encounter that lasted almost to the 1970s let me tell ya.

I have never seen the Comintern win WW3. I have seen the Axis win WW2. Who then stomped the Comintern. Whoever wins between the Axis/Allies, the Comintern will be the big loser.

The game will actually continue in a cycle of world wars until one of two things happens:

1) Only one faction in the world (aka Comintern)

2) Only democratic factions exist (Allies and Intermarium)
