It would be really interesting in the future if paradox implements a feature in which when you declare war on a nation besides having a choice of conquer, puppet and acquire territory, a new button could be to cut the territory the way the player likes it not what is given by the game in "acquire territory" button. The selector could be like a pen and the player draws the provinces they want to acquire if they win the war. My suggestion though even though there may not be a chance of being implemented into the final product.

I felt that the "acquire territory" options given in HOI 3 TFH doesn't always cater to what i would like and some of you may or not agree.

I am not moaning in any way but it would be cool if it was implemented. It is ok if it is not though, just a thought. :p
If you are part of a faction lets say, you can see the regions which your allies have set as war goals, it will be displayed on that country in either a different or darker color. This is in order to see what territory is left over for you and if both want the same part. i.e. south of France then it's who has the most territory that will win that land.
The pen could be exactly like the devs showed us at the premier for HOI 4 btw.

Had this exact thought many times in the past. HOI3 already gave you a province highlighting tool for assigning theaters, doesn't seem far fetched at all for them to do even back then.

I'd add to this that I'd like to see a lot more claimable regions on the map, if they're still using a similar system. They're not at all difficult to add. Mainland France in HOI3 for example came with Northern and Western France, plus the individual regions of Mondane, Briancon, and Nice in the southeast and Prades and Bayonne for French Catalonia and Navarre.

But I'd add to France as claimable regions Alsace-Lorraine, Brittany, Normandy, French Flanders, Burgundy, and most importantly Southern/Vichy France. The whole world could benefit from more of these claimable regions. And it'd be nice to be able to just pick everything you want off the list at the start of the war. I remember many a game as Italy praying that Germany would get hung up on the Maginot Line long enough to give me time to add Tunisia, Corsica, Nice, Briancon, Mondane, Djibouti, etc. to my war goal claims before French defeat.

And finally, think the world could really benefit from a few more selectively added puppets, ones that would certainly have a much more strategic impact (and playability factor) than say, independent Iceland or Guyana.

Ukraine and Burma strike me as the highest priority candidates to add. Probably also Malaya, Algeria, the Central Asian republics (or a combined Turkestan), Congo, Nigeria, Byelorussia, and Serbia.

And it probably would not be that hard to script the AI to follow certain claims on certain opponents. Italy on France for example: Nice and Savoy, Corsica, Tunisia, Djibouti. Italy on UK: Egypt, Sudan, British Somaliland, Malta, Gibraltar, Cyprus, Palestine & Transjordan. Italy on Spain: Balearic Islands, Spanish Morocco & Sahara, Canaries, Equatorial Guinea, maybe Catalonia. Spain on Italy: Sardinia, maybe Sicily and Libya. Spain on England: Gibraltar, West Indies. Spain on France: French Morocco, French Catalonia & Navarre, maybe Corsica. Spain on USA: Guam, Puerto Rico, Panama Canal.

Put a few hours into it and I'm sure you could have something in mind for all countries in any likely conflict.

I like it. Could work the same as the way we can assign provinces to Theatre-HQ's in HoI3.
Based on that is then calculated the warscore we need to get that provinces.

AI would go for cores first and the for rich or neighbour provinces, and then depending on its government demanding more or less.
Sounds familar somehow. :)
