Possible overflow issue

I was just playing along to purge all the alien life (what is done now, so I have the time to write) and stumbled across this "feature":

Seems like a overflow issue for the research value of the techs.
What would you guys say?

To answer your original question, seems like I remember seeing overflow going negative and research never getting done before this would be the opposite of that. So maybe overflow being handled differently with this patch?

i don't know if this was recently changed but this has being in the game for a long time. I don't know if they changed it from how you see it now but it previously was handled by replacing the amount it costs with "free" and it getting researched on the first month tick.

there is also unity overflow, and how slow is your game ? I see you have quite few planets for the size, and only 4,5k pops

I stopped taking planets around 2440 (tired of optimizing pops etc xD) and just purged the rest. xD
And to conclude: Yes it is an Integer overflow bug and it was already reported twice.

Yup. Pretty old issue. I don't think it will be ever fixed considering you have to be quite huge and play long to hit it.
It's one of the reasons I refuse to go super wide.
