Hello there!
I love Stellaris, I own almost every dlc & expansion, excepting a few species packs. I play this game since day one!
There is always room for improvement in this game. How about you do a complete rework for the ground invasion and armies for the next expansion?
There are some ideas:
1) Some mini games that involve strategies, either you place the troops in specific places, and also have specialised troops like armored vehicles, bunker busters. It would be nice to be able to coordonate with the bombers if you have carriers in orbit! That would make the idea of picking up strike crafts and bombers to seem like a better choice! Also include planetary weapon platforms, i know that there is a mod for that but still it would be nice to have it in base game. Also you can keep kinda the same invasion system but include strategies like in HoI4, either you select your own strategies or let the AI decide for you, random, ofc, taking up in rotation the strategies you have researched through society research.
2) This may interest some players but it would be interesting if we could send boarding parties onto bigger ships with tasks to capture the said ship or disable it. This would mean that bigger ships must have the ability to store in some assault troops and lets say battleships have 3 base defensive troops on board, and maximum of 10 assault squads, and ofc double the numbers for titans and juggernauts.
There are so manny things you can do if you decide to do this. I mean , ground combat needs some love !
Thank you, I really hope that a dev can respond to me but anyway i'd be happy with user interaction ! Thank you, have a nice day !

I think we'll see a big government expansion next. An expanded factions system and a more involved government with more diversity between government types. Maybe a bunch of new Civics and a rework for sectors as well. That's what I hope at least.

The next DLC we will be getting is most likely a story pack. We have five major expansions, five species packs, but only four story packs.

What the next story pack will be is anyone's guess; however, I'll just leave this Q&A answer from months ago here:

For me, the next expansion/story pack/flavor pack is going to be about different phenotypes for existing portraits :D
Think about it, they have lent us the possibility to have species of only female or only male, but we don't have anything to use that for except for humanoids. Next DLC must be new phenotypes for mammals, arthropods, etc. At least that's what I'm hoping for ^_^

Micromanaging in war isn't really fun.
The next DLC is most likely a story pack about internal politics, because:
  • Factions are massively neglected
  • Authority types all basically feel the same as far as the actual "authority"
  • Internal problems are a joke
  • Civil wars don't exist
  • We just had an espionage-related DLC that's basically powerless because you can't mess up an empire's internal stuff
  • Internal problems would be perfect to help with the current problem of super wide megaempires.
Call it "Stellaris: Civil War" and the marketing pretty much writes itself.

Agreed. If I had to play a mini game for every single planet, I'd never play another "nice" empire again and just destroy the planet or bomb its citizens into non-existence. Then add however many habitats the AI adds to the mix and I don't even want to think about it.

I kinda get what you are saying but where is the rush? I tought this game it is supposed to be a roleplaying strategy game? "Like in real life" would be cool to have attention to all the details, including ton of micromanaging...

I accepted the fact that ground combat will always be lackluster in Stellaris and pretty much only Stellaris 2 can fix that. It's not a huge deal
I dont think there is a need for stellaris 2, i mean we already have all the dlcs here... it can be upgraded...tho...if we get stellaris 2 one day we , if we have all the dlcs and expansions from this one it should port to version 2

Don't get me wrong, I like the principle of your idea, it's the fact to have it repeated over and over that I don't like!
Like, the resistance minigame from Kaizer crisis from Gigastructures is very fun to play because it only concern one planet during the whole event. Narrative feels engaging and immersive, just because of this.
Imho, Stellaris repetitive burdens and features is what kill the storytelling part of the game. All worlds feel the same, you do the same thing over and over...
