I know bugs are to go in the bug report-thread, and I shall post this there if it turns out to not just be an issue for me. Since I don't know anyone that plays the game with Flashpoint yet, I wanted to check if others have experienced the same before calling it a bug. The issue I have is sub-par audio on jungle maps. The sound for weapons fire (explosions and whatnot) is very choppy and disjointed. This only occurs on Jungle maps, everywhere else the audio is fine, but for some reason as soon as I get a jungle map it starts acting up. Once the map is done and I move on it is fine again.

Is it just me or are there more people affected? Since if it's just me it's likely something local with my system and not a bug.

I get the audio issues you described. Next time it happens, get your log from BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\output_log.txt and make a bug report for it. I keep forgetting to do that. That log is wiped and refreshed every time you start the game, so you kind of have to do it right after you finish that mission and quit the game.
