I am not sure if this is a bug, so I am asking those in the know to take a peek and let me know. As I understand the rules, a subject nation may not declare war upon its master, yet in this situation I see Manchuko having war goals against the Japanese Shogunate, despite still being a subject, and both are fighting China and Communist China. At the same time, Manchuko just picked "Obedience", and trying to snatch Korea from its master doesn't seem like a good start to an effort at being "Obedient". I get that there is a bit of strangeness from time to time, but this does seem to be a rule violation to me. This is not the same as Hungary demanding sovereignty over Slovakia - Hungary is not a subject of Germany when it does that [and usually gets told NO].

Anyhow, if someone could let me know, then I'll post this in the bug forum.

This isn't game breaking for me - thought I should add that. For this playthrough, Asian events matter little to me.

Sure, but doesn't that seem like a waste for the AI? I do get what your saying, but it still sounds to me a bit like putting the cart before the horse; such a focus should come after freedom.

Mind you, in the same game, Poland went for its own faction just as Germany declared war, so no Allied back up. Even so, Germany got to decalre war on the Benelux even though it was not at war with France or England. I would think that Herr Moustache would prefer to maintain a secure western boundary while he sought his Lebenstaum in the East. Just my opinion, but the focus system does lead to the Axis AI's getting themselves into a lot more trouble than they need.

Thanks for the reply!
