This has happened a few times now in different circumstances but I am not 100% sure whether its me or the game. (Too many late nights I guess.)
Playing Novgorod, create new alliance with Georgia. When I check diplomacy screen later I find that I am in alliance with a bag full of other nations as well. The game believes that Georgia created the alliance and is giving it the diplomatic initiative.
