Some nice expansion, although I shudder to think what your inflation is.

Is there any chance the mistress of the seas will reach Land 9 by 1500 or so, and be able to really make use of all those cool conquistadore?

I think it's quite impossible. On my own portuguese AAR, when I had the first load of conquistadores (by the early 1500's) I only had land 5. I was mainly focusing on naval and trade, and from what it seems, he is doing the same.

Just my $0.02.

So do I. I'm only living with it because I know that the AI will eventually catch up to me. I'm still hoping for a few nice deflationary events. :)

No, I don't think so. I'm focusing on infrastrcture and naval right now. Castile serves as my European shield, and I feel that building up my industry is more important. I tend not to really focus on trade until I start lossing too many traders from my CoTs, or start gaining provincial ones and want to maintain monoplolies. (I don't really like sending traders out, so would rather let the AI do it, but I can't trust it when I can gain monopolies because it then starts to fight for CoTs where there is no chance of maintaining a monopoly). Given how early in the exploration process that I am, I'm more interested in focusing on naval than on land, although at some point I'll look at the rest of Europe, get scared, and play catch up.

Yes, although at this point it's infrastructrue rather than trade.
