Hello. I recently decided I'd go back to Crusader Kings 2 since Charlemagne has been released for what I hoped was a long enough time for them to squash the game-breaking bugs. Apparently not. Anyway, I decided I wanted to finish my first ever full campaign of Crusader Kings II, and convert it to EU4. I purchased all the DLC available on Steam, excluding Mediterranean Portraits (fuck those things) (and people in the Mediterranean look weird now, despite me not buying it!) and the Ebook.
I decided I would play an Ironman campaign, from the Charlemagne start, as the Duke of Essex. However, I entered the game, I found that peoples portraits would start disappearing the longer I played. At first, I would look at a character and merely notice one of his relatives portraits was blank. As time passed, however, every single portrait became missing, making the game unplayable as I could not select characters, and thus, could not interact with them. Restarting the game would fix this, but it is only a temporary solution since, as time passes, portraits will stop appearing.
This is making the game completely unplayable. I just shelled out £60 for all the DLC I didn't own, and the game is completely broken. I hope that Paradox gets their arse in gear and actually checks their DLC works before releasing it next time.
I have taken a number of screenshots. Pay attention to the dates. At first, there are only a few characters who can't be selected. Years down the line, however, you'll notice how it starts to effect gameplay more and more. In the last few images, you can see it becomes impossible for me to interact with anybody. https://imgur.com/a/EQxyT
