Is there anyway to get rid of parts of the populace you do not want, or is there a way to "absorb" them into your national background? In playing as Russia, I took over China, and now my population has taken a huge slant into their favor. I was just wondering how to deal with this tension in game.

I'm sure a lot of world leaders in real life would like to know the answer to your question!

Not sure how the assimilition mechanism works, but I think that minorities in provinces slowly get assimilated into the province majority/majorities.

I've had lots of POPs "disappear" this way, suddenly having very large POPs of my main culture(s) instead of assorted smaller POPs of varied cultures.
