Good Morning Everyone:
I read a post made long ago (and I'm still looking for it) that stated the 1,000,000 cim population limit is comprised of the following:
Cims living in the city
Tourists in the city
Delivery trucks in the city

It was stated in the earlier post that Mariina in an interview stated the above.
Does anyone know what makes up the population total of 1,000,000?
Has anyone seen this interview/video?
Can I get a confirmation?

If TotalyMoo or a dev could answer this question that would be the best for all of us.

And if a dev or TotalyMoo would answer this question as well..........
Once the population limit is reached would that then stop/prevent more roads to be built?

TY
JJ

It's my understanding that the game is designed to support 1m cims, but it's a soft limit.
Yeah, I remember seeing an interview discussing how the game was balanced for a target of 1,000,000 but I do not remember it being called a limit...

I just watched two videos on the youtube and both Mariina & the lady with the pink hair said 1 million cims.
I'm just looking for the definition of 1 million.

Is it just residents?
Residents + tourists?
Residents + tourists + delivery trucks?

Just a simple response from someone at CO would be wonderful.

The last I heard, from either a video with the devs or the Reddit AMA was Residents + Tourists.

I don't remember Delivery Trucks ever being mentioned.

EDIT: By never mentioned I meant by the devs, I have seen it mentioned in forums but I don't know the source of that.

Now you've got me wondering :(

Why would delivery trucks go into the 1 million count? Again, 1 million is just about the population. The number of potential active agents representing Cims(people who live and work in your city).

Now those Cims, that are active, ie. represented on the streets of the city, go together with trucks, service vehicles and add up to the maximum number of 65,000.

When a CIm is inside a building he is just part of the statistics. When he leaves a building he is represented by a car, motocycle, a walker, ie. active agent.

Basically (to use Mariina's favorite english word), the limit at 1 million doesn't really matter because the active agents limit is 65,000. So in a city that has a limit of 1 million population 65,000 active agents will make it look like something is going on everywhere. If the limit was 10 Million the city would be a ghost town because you would see 1 active agent per 10 city blocks. The illusion of the game would shater.

if you have a PC with 100 CPU cores, 1 TB of memory and 50 Titans you are free to be angry at the design. If not... then don't.

Why would delivery trucks go into the 1 million count?

The same reason tourists would? They are coming in from outside the city boundaries?
If tourists are counted in the 1 million then possibly trucks would be as well?
That is why I'm asking this simple question of the devs or someone who works at CO so we can all know the answer. From an authority, someone who knows.
