Hi,
I have been playing Victoria 2 and have been enjoying it. However, I am confused with the population changes - it seems as if a lot of my population is disappearing for no know cause.
The attached screenshot displays the tooltip that appears when I mouse over the 'population change arrow' for Siam as a whole. It indicates that the population has decreased by 788 people (per month? or per day?) . There is a +6 from immigration, but that is balanced by the -6 from internal immigration. Then there is -505 people seeking employment, -46 cultural assimilation, and -237 religious conversion. What has happened to these people? Have 237 died by fire-brand conversions, and 46 died in Pogroms? Have 505 people starved to death?
The -505 people seeking employment are also reflected in the 'Promotions' section. It seems my policies are driving large numbers of artisans and aristocrats out of their jobs without them taking up new ones. What has happened to them?
It's difficult to manage a decent social engineering policy without being able to work out the direction of promotion and demotion my people take.
